Solana Beach between I-5 and 101, the north part of town being evacuated.

Del Mar, all the way to the beach in the south part, as well...

New fire in the La Jolla Indian Reservation at the base of Palomar Mountain...

Just getting worse, before it gets better...

Winds are bad in some areas... but helicopters are dropping water today. No aircraft up yesterday, winds too strong.

513,000 residents now under mandatory evacuations as of 11:25 am.

Canada is sending down the world's largest air tanker, the Mars waterbomber, from Port Alberni, BC to Lake Elisnore. 27,000 gals per drop.
Sure do hope it helps some!!!

We'll be in Sandyeggo by the 10th. Wish we could come earlier to help out. So frustrating sitting home watching CNN.:(

New fire on Camp Pendleton near I-5 has closed the northbound side of I-5. Fire in Fallbrook, Palomar Mountain, Lake Hodges growing still.

An area of Oceanside is being evacuated for the first time (I am in Oceanside)...

Smoke here again this morning, ash covering everything...

Diaster total exceeding one billion $... President Bush signed, so those affected can get FEMA .

It is the same link that was posted in the opening post of this thread: http://www.ninedaysinbaja.com/fire.html

14-15 needs to update it as it is housed on his web site, so when he updates the map, he let's us know to recheck it... It is zoomable to see where the active fires are as well as the evacution areas.

FYI: New fires burning on Palomar Mountain, Camp Pendleton, Fallbrook... The Santa Ana winds are dying down and off shore breezes have started up, halting the fires heading towards the ocean and pushing them back onto already burned areas... where they will die from lack of fuel.

The end is in sight!
