road to Mike's Sky Rancho?

Has anyone driven from Hwy 3 to Mike's recently? How about from Mikes's to Meling Ranch? I'm going in a couple of days in my 4wd Dodge diesel and would like to know current road conditions.

Thanks

Hi Dug, let us know when you get back how you found it... some of us who are backpacking to Mision San Pedro Martir Apr. 4-8 might be going over towards San Felipe after, and will exit via Mike's. Last time I was on it was in 1982...

............................................................................................ Due to the winter rains the road is in pretty bad shape. 12 in deep ruts with big rocks, and the places where you cross water are even worse. It's slow going.

Me No---how long did it take to drive from Mike's to Meling? In 1990 it only took about an hour or two....in 1997 it took us 5 hours and a nice big dent in my truck when it slid sideways off a boulder into an oak tree! The 1997 El Nino played havoc in there.....

I guess that is the big thing. It can be an easy drive. Not this year! 4 hours.
