Tinaja de Yubay
We visited last week and used David K's GPS waypoints. They were so accurate that when we came to the fork in the road we stopped to make sure there
was not another fork a few yards away. We walked a few yards north of the fork and the GPS showed that we had to go back to the fork.
After a thorny cross county beginning to the hike we arrived at the waterhole, ready for a swim. Unfortunately the water was green and alive, but a
spectacular place nevertheless.

Thanks for the nice words... I am glad you found it. Just think of the tools of navigation used by earlier people! Acually, the sombrero looking
mountain just south of the Yubay canyon was a road sign to Yubay!
Neal Johns has some GREAT Yubay photos and other area pics taken last year: http://davidksbaja.com/neal2

Here is my page on Tinaja de Yubay, from the July, 2001 trip with amigos. GPS directions from Hwy. 1 included. See Travelpearl (Debra) playing dead on
the trail, and see me kiss a boojum!

If you can get a hold of a copy of Arthur W. North's journalCamp and Camino in Lower California (preferably a 1st ed copy because the photos
in the reprint are not as good) there are some interesting pix of the Tinaja de Yubay taken during North's trip almost a century ago.
