I found a cheaper way to Skype!

Ok.. as most of you know Skype is from the U.K. well one day I was looking at the UK site and the Subscriptions and plans were different... They also Included an Online Number for Free... So I tried it on my Skype account.. NO GO.. so after researching a little, I found out that you have to be registered as a european user to get those plans.. SO I signed up for a new account.. it was real simple .. it asked what username and passord I wanted... What country and city I live in, and thats IT!! I put London, U.K. as my country... Then I signed up for the UNLIMTED USA & Canada Plan.. Meaning that you can call ANY US or Canadian number from your Skype (you can be anywhere in the world) for FREE (besides the monthly subscription of $5.50 USD.. and I got a San Diego Number (619) for free Included.. So basicly, for Unlimited calling to USA and Canada, and a San Diego Number its $65.00 for the Year... Which is a GREAT deal!!!!! Plus they give you a little more than a dollar each month in credit to call other countries....

so to recap..

Sign up for skype saying that you live in UK (address not required during sign up)

sign up for Unlimited Country (USA & Canada)

Pay like $5.50 USD

then pick your number (Mexican Numbers arent available when you sign up as a european .. not sure why)

then your set to go!!!

Any questions let me know My skype is MexicoGringo

Tony

Oh and also.. dont worry if you have a US Credit Card, or billing address.. it still worked for me... But you can not use the same card for more than one skype account.. So I used Paypal using the same card.. (Ebay owns paypal, and Skype)

The Adapter that allows you to use a regular phone, either corded or codless with your skype.. You plug into your computer, and you plug your phone into the adaptor and there you go.. You can also plug a regular phone line into it that will allow you to make both regular and Skype calls from the same phone...

I know there are phones out there with Skype Built in, BUT for 5 bucks and a phone you already have its a good deal...

I do eventually want to get a phone with integrated skype so you can plug into the router not your pc..

Heres the link to the adapter

Cool Skype Phones

Ok so I am on a Skype Crusade I guess.. there are some Cool phones out now that work like cell phones as long as you have a wifi connection, you dont even need to be home..

Belkin Phone

SMC Phone

NetGear Phone

The cheapest is SMC but for 3 bucks more the Belkin is better..... I am going to save up for one of them I think, to use around the house, and anywhere there is Wi-fi...

I just wonder how long this will last with skype , seems to cheap and too good to be true!!

OK... So I have done my math... and sorry to get so exited and thinking I found a great deal.... Heres what I found.... : The deal I told you about is essentially the same as you can get as a regsiterd US user.. the only difrence is its cheaper upfront cost Apx. $5.50 USD a month for unlimited US / Can and a Phone number free, in leu of the option for US users 2.95 a month for unlimited US / Can, BUT you have to pay for a phone number with s diso**** still $30 a year.... In the end those two amont sre the same. So if your on a budget like me, the was I said above is better because its lower upfront... the normal way is the same end game, BUT higher upfront... I havent decided which account I will stay with.. we will see..

To be honest I have found similr stories on majicjack, and many , many other products.. there is always going to be people that doesnt like someone or somebody so if you have enough time to scour the inyternet you could find dirt on any big company.... I have useld Belkin alot, and find thier products to be very good, and have never Had an issue with them.. To each thier own i guess....

Supposedly Magicjack does the Same thing.. or is capable of it according to thier agreement.. BUT I havent heard anyone complain yet that it hapens
