urgent, transport small package Loreto to Bay Area asapPROBLEM SOLVED

Loretano currently in Bay Area awaiting heart surgery left his heart monitor (to transmit pacemaker info via phone line) here. it is needed there prior to scheduling heart surgery.

anyone flying that way very soon who can carry it? box measures 8x8x4.5 inches. he can arrange pick up in USA or pay for delivery from there.

I heard a rumor that DHL is now servicing Loreto but haven't tracked that down. info?

thank you.

DHL has service direct to Loreto; you can call their 800 number. You will want to get a proper address from someone who knows like an accountant or large hotel, and will have to fill out a declaration form for the contents. Proper addressing is the most important part.

I will be passing thru Tracy on I-5 in about 2 hours (08:30-09:00) and could have the gizmo available for pickup in Mulege anytime on Sunday if that helps. 916-240-2141 cell.

Small package indeed...

Reminds me of a story I told some years back on this board,
hopefully it will bring a smile...

I have people leaving on the 2nd and the 7th of sept. Next flight out of Loreto is Sunday the 31st. There is NO shipping out of Loreto no matter what DHL tells you. The only shiping out is ESTUFETA and the aparatus would need to clear customs at the Loreto airport first. Complicated I know.

Roberta,
Mike just flew in today as the Iguana Inn was under a foot of mud and water after TS Julio, so he is in town to deal with our place. He can certainly bring it back and we can ship it on. Stop by and talk to him at the hotel as our phone is not working.

thanks to you guys who responded, I appreciate it. the monitor is enroute, flown to LAX today's AA flight, should be in the mail by tonight. many thanks to all who helped, found someone going out.
my research: NO DHL. Estufeta ships document/letter type stuff ONLY. no packages.
best solution is people like you, who rise to the occasion.
