passing this on public service - help victim

ASSISTANCE NEEDED TO LOCATE DROWNING VICTIM IN BAJA MEX

Aug 22, 2008 at about 1pm an 11 year old American boy drown in a rip current at a beach called “Playa Del Mar” located in Baja Mexico North, approximately 40 miles south of the US Mexico boarder, and 1.6 miles north of the La Salina harbor. The GPS numbers for the exact location of the drowning are N 32° 04.576' W 116°52. 885'.
(Garmin 76) - N32° 04.576' W 116° 52.885'; (GPS Map III) - N 32° 04' 34.1" W116° 52' 53.3"
Attempts to rescue the boy were made by the father, an Orange County fireman and Mexican hookah divers in a panga but with no success.
Local authorities, family members, and volunteers have been searching for the boy for 12 days but have had no success.
Family members hope to recover their son as soon as possible for closure. After about two weeks the body may begin floating.
When it floats it is possible it may be pushed on shore, or drift off shore anywhere from just outside the breakers to a few miles or more.
The family asks that any pilots transiting the area keep a sharp eye out for a body floating on the surface of the ocean
The family has received assistance from an ultra lite e that flys in the area on weekends. However they do not search far off shore. If you are in the area or flying over and have the ability to search the ocean the family welcomes any assistance.
For further information you can contact me at webmb@san.rr.com.
They also ask that any persons visiting the beaches in the area keep a sharp eye out on the beach for the possibility of the body washing up on the beach.
If you happen to spot the body notify the Tijuana or Ensinada tower and ask them to contact the local police if flying over, or call them if possible.

These are sad stories that happen all too often on the beaches down here ... at least one or two a year it seems.

Here is a link to the other recent incident ... this one involved a rogue wave taking a 74-yo man from the beach.

This notice should be passed on to boating and flying forums also.

Wishing you all the best in this situation.
