Translate into English and what does it mean.

I was sitting here last night and thinking of some of Oso's post on Baja. Each one of his gems caused me to either buy a book or go to the library.
SO I thought I would try to stimulate some interest in Mexican Saying and what they mean. Let's see if anyone is interested.
WHATS IT SAY AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

One of my favorites:
Come poco, bebe, el doble, duerme el triple, rie cuarto veces y llegaras a viejo.

Stephanie,

Sure they will all be simple little gems on living life.

AA I would suggest that living long and prospering is okay but there is a deeper meaning here.

Hint, Ha Ha could be the key.

There is the saying that God gave us two ears and one mouth so that we should listen twice as much as we speak... In Mexico, a simular saying is (forgive any grammatic mistakes): "Cuando la boca esta abierta, entran las moscas"

That might be closer to "Don't talk sh#@", but I have always liked it.

Stephanie,
You nailed it plus be able to laugh at yourself.

David, I think that says If you keep your mouth shut the fly's won't fly in or something like that.

Yes Bernie, I know... When your mouth is shut, flys can't get in. I think it may also be "Con la boca cerrada, no entran moscas" "With a shut mouth, flys don't enter"

Pretty funny either way... maybe call the Off Topic board that?

David K,
Really liked your ##*%% approach best. The comment on off topic board brought much so much laughter to me that Lu Ann came in to see what was the matter.
