dtbushpilot needs your help

Hola Nomads,

We are here in Buena Vista and need help. The cat that lives here at the condo complex has kittens that need a home. We have an appointment to have her spayed Monday morning and she won't be able to care for (feed) the kittens after that time. They are 6 weeks old, eating solid food and are all very friendly. The mother cat was abandoned by the former maintenance person here and doesn't have anyone to care for her properly so the kittens don't stand a chance on their own. We are only going to be here till the 26th so we're trying to do what we can to get them adopted before we leave. We would be happy to bring one (or more) North with us for you Nomads in Northern Baja. Also, we will donate $20 to the local ALMA chapter for every one that we can find homes for by Monday the 20th.

Please help these poor unfortunate kittens......

Good for you for being kind, compassionate and caring! Few would step up to the plate as you are now doing. Most people turn away from this "unpleasant" part of Baja life. They are beautiful little kitties—the calicos are
females. For some reason, rescued animals ALWAYS turn out to be incredibly grateful. I have seen it time and again. We've flown a number of kitties north to new homes in the US from Animalandia. (Our own little Loreto street dog, soon to be 13, is far kinder and more patient than any other dog we know. Not the brightest, just the most grateful.) Hopefully among all of the nomads out there, there is room for a pocho kitty here and there.

Thank you for the kind words Marla. You are so right about rescued animals, they give back so much and love you in spite of your shortcomings. I have 2 rescue cats and they have been a source of much enjoyment over the years. I rescued "Bob" the black cat from in front of the supermarket in New Mexico. A kid about 10 years old had him in a box and with big tearfull eyes told me that his dad said that if he brought him home he would take him to the dump. The cat was scrawny, had an eye infection and acording to the vet was less than 4 weeks old. He has been a source of much love and enjoyment over the years.

The dog, on the other hand is a Yorkie that we bought from a breeder. While she can be a lot of fun I think she would be just as happy to go home with the next stranger that walks by.

Here is a picture of Bob abd Seth planning the demise of the smelly dog

Please help me out Nomads. If you're not a "cat person" you don't know what you're missing. If you've had a bad experience with cats in the past give them another chance, you will be surprised how trouble free and fun they can be. If you are already a cat person one more wouldn't hurt and the cats you have will enjoy a new brother or sister.

I'd be happy to deliver them anywhere in Baja.....dt

If you walk out of Tio's and head straight down the road to the beach, she lives in the house where you will run into the first gate. She is on the water.

Yes Baja animals can be brought north with no hassle. Flying into LAX commercially, they need a certificate from a vet saying they have had a rabies shot and are in good health. They should also have the usual distemper and perhaps other shots. I'm less familiar with kitty shots. Animalandia will be happy to donate kitty crates in Loreto for anyone wishing to adopt these little guys to go north, either by car or plane.
