After all these years, it still has the feel of today. What a great read. I'm going to dig out my copy and do it again.

I have given that book away as a present to a couple of friends in the process of "thinking about" moving down here and build a house. I think it should be a must read for all considering such a move.

It really helps to put you in the right frame of mind and help you be able to just laugh at some of the inevitable things that would normally raise your blood pressure.

Actually that philosophy tends to work well in most things in life. Jack Smith was wise beyond his years and could probably have been a good psychotherapist.

I could sure of used his help from time to time...

My pleasure. I was always a fan of his and read his column religiously in the La Times. I stumbled upon that link, and immediately thought it would be enjoyed by many. Still don't know why I couldn't paste the entire link. obviously, I'm no internet wizard.

Yep. thanks, Ron, as you know how handicapped I am....

BTW, if you navigate around the site to which the link connects, you'll find some other interesting photos of El Rosario, Coco's Corner and Alphonsina's.

Keri,
When in Oceanside I walk by the Villaseņor ranch everyday taking the dogs to the park.. What a special family they have become.
All his books are up there for reading, once you read the 1st one Rain of Gold.. you are drawn to the sequels..;D
