MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: A donde vas? (Where are you going?)
We are heading south Friday afternoon, destination: Shell Island for a weekend of sand and sea... Elizabeth's son and his girlfriend will be with
us... sun, beer, campfire, stars... The Baja Feeling!
Here's some photos from our last time on the island, November, 2008:

2008 Memorial Day Trip: http://vivabaja.com/508

Our camp in the dunes

Just the sea, sand and shells!

Laguna Percebu (Estero Percebu) seperates Shell Island from the rest of Baja.

Sunset behind Diablo Mountain...
Have fun everyone!

Loop over Sonora Pass and back on Tioga (if it opens-still closed)
Otherwise, Hetch Hetchy annual hike.
Awesome water in the park this year,
we were up last Monday and the falls were pounding.
Love to go to Baja, but we were there a few weeks back,
and need to get caught up at home.

David... I'm sure you will have a fantastic time. I know how much you love that part of Baja Norte!
We plan on staying home here in beautiful San Diego! After Las Vegas... San Diego is the 2nd most popular place to visit with San Francisco being #3.
And, here we are already here!

Bob H--have a cigar and think of me. I am a native San Diegan, born and raised there.
Baja Runner; Tioga Pass opened today! I keep tabs on it. So go do that Hetch Hetchy hike and enjoy the waterfalls. I hiked that last year.
I'm spending a week in BOLA, at Camp Gecko. As many of you know, my rock casa there is for sale. If you want to take a look at it, just drop on by
and say hello.

Beautiful Pictures, David K
Memorial weekend plans? Kicking back in Bahia Descanso and Sunday Brunch at Ruben's Baja Grill.
The sky is blue and clear and the waves are low, allowing the kelp beds on the horizon to show. Pangeros are tending to their traps, while the
puppies bark at them because they are trespassing on "THEIR" ocean.

The big sign on Hwy 120 just east of Oakdale is a mile from my house, and just an hour ago it was lighted up.
Tough call to make....
Baja? or the Sierras?
Since the entrance gate to Yosemite is less than 90 minutes away I guess Sierras wins again.
By the by, the peaks are bright and shining today- snow abounds!

Thanks Connie... Those photos and a LOT more are all found in one or more links to my trips, at VivaBaja.com... I do post photos on Nomad often to add
some 'color' to the text, as I know most don't click on links or have time to surf the net beyond Nomad.

Utah, for a month. Concentrating on the High Uintah's both north side and south side, and the northern Wasatch Mts..
It ain't Baja, but it will be a little cooler than Baja, I am thinking.
