Kicking the Turtle Novela off the first page of "Today's posts" is such a pleasure!

Couldn't resist, just to make sure it happened, at least once, since it began!

Maybe it will stay there!

Just a positive note on turtles. Our friend who works for the Reserve was out with others catching turtles----just to weigh, measure, tag them and record information.

He said one they found was really big---68 kilos. They estimated it to be somewhere maybe around 50 years old.

Really made my day to hear that the old guy, or gal was still swimming around.:yes:

Am I the only Nomad that never once opened that thread?
Heard about it, decided it was caca and stayed out of it.

A very nice (dare I say smug) sense of accomplishment on that one,
and thanks for the hints elsewhere that it was not something worth peeking in on....

The first day I asked for it to be removed. It was an insult to all here but it got Dougs' website "visits"! Why else would it be allowed?

Turtle Novela just won't go away. For whatever reason, El Comandante Loco revived the thing after a great three day respite!

On another topic, but sticking with the dense shell theme (turtles and and thick-headed people that eat them), I am wondering if my favorite Mojave critter the desert tortoise is found in Baja???

Doug, call me when it is worth coming back

Right now this board is in a serious slump,
sad to say,

so much of Baja to see
so much of Baja to talk about
so little of either being accomplished

que lastima...

I wonder if all those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms had this dialog in mind. Maybe not.

How about giving it a rest for the weekend which should be spent with gratitude in mind. It won't hurt.

Not at all. This is a great forum when its not being run like a retirement condo strata board. There are those here who dictate what can be said and by whom based on the stars beside their fake names.

Change is coming and you can not stop it. Its why there are no more hidden beaches in Baja and its not safe to drive down at night. Failure to pick up on this will leave you behind in the dust.

I would hope all residents of Baja will look back on a post that spoke of the dangers of the next election in Mexico and how it will affect their well being in Baja. If Calderon does not win this narco war, there will be a drug dealer running Mexico in a couple of years after the next election.

How will that affect your home ownership issues and what about the oversight you now want ...

Its time to take a serious look at where we are and where we are going and not shoot the messengers....
