Even better... It is Las Flores, true! There was no mime at Las Flores (but maps and books make the mistake, so you are forgiven arbee!)...

The mine was/ is several miles south and 4,000 higher up on top of the mountain range, at San Juan. A pair of railroads and a cable tram bucket line brought the ore to Las Flores for processing.

Yes, and yes... but where was the water that almost swallowed my Subaru back in December of 1978? Hint: this is normally a dry desert arroyo very far from civilization! Who was this great, friendly guy who joined me on our first visit to Mision Santa Maria, May of 1999?

Well, it once was... the gag plane wreck/ air mail display was near the entrance to the campo at Laguna Percebu. This photo I took about 1978 or so.

#3) YES: Flash flood in Arroyo Matomi a couple miles from the rancho... in 1978. A very scary moment, the water was fast rising. I was heading back down the arroyo to get out of there after finding the water too deep further up... The original owner of Matomi was with us (Tomas Dowling). The arroyo was sand under the water, and I thought to myself "How do you get unstuck frm sand?: drop the air pressure! It worked...

#6) Yes, BajaMur and I on May 1, 1999 on the peninsular divide, 10 miles from Santa Ynez on the road to Mision Santa Maria. Mur was a great guy... his way too soon death is a loss to so many!

#7) Yes, Baja Nomad SCORE LITE racer 'steekers' with Baja Nomad and 'got baja?' stickers on his racer. Photo from bajalou.

Very good Rob!

2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12 HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!

1: Neal Johns knows, but isn't saying! HINT: Yes that is a POLE along a ROAD... There's a Nomad behind it, in its shadow... Where and Who???

8: Older photo I took about 1981 (+/- 1 year). HINT: An event in Baja styled after one in Spain. Where and what??

9: Real old photo (1966) of a 8 1/2 year old kid and a cardon... HINT: his parents had a Jeep Wagoneer and he has been in love with Baja ever since! Who?

11: That's an island (duh)! Hint: Looks like a dead man lying on his back.
