What are you doing Fourth of July?

I'm always curious how Nomads are spending their holidays, so I will ask you "What are you doing Fourth of July weekend?"

I am working Friday. Then on the 4th, I will attend our small town parade and let my heart swell with patriotism.

After the parade, my group will have nachos and cold beer from some booths set up, while watching a skating competition; chalk-drawing contest; and cookie-decorating by wee ones.

Following that, we are going 4-wheeling through mini-Utah like narrow red canyons to pictoglyphs. I'll take lots of photos for an article I'm writing about the trip. And I'll be sure to keep receipts for the tax deductions.

Back to town, and pizza will be baked for a quick and easy dinner. Then we will all drive to a local lake and watch fireworks that will hopefully reflect in the lake's surface (if no wind). The 'bursting in air' show will be choreographed to music by our local station.

On Sunday, we are going to gather firewood. We only have about 1.5 cords so far, not enough for next winter. Thankfully, I will get my turn at the man-size chainsaw which is SOOO MUCH FUN to operate!

By lunch I hope to be home and finish last minute packing to take off to Yosemite Valley for just a couple days shy of three weeks of pure pleasure.

Yes, I live a charmed life. And I do appreciate it.

If it makes you feel any better,I do have to turn in four articles before I can leave. If I don't have them done, then I'll have to work a bit at the start of my vacation. Sure hope those margaritas leave some room for my brain to still function......

Absorbing Mexican culture and beer and watching the senoritas!

http://www.plazamonumental.com/index.php

The beach will be packed!!

The various TJ car/motocycle clubs usually show up too!

Definitely an urban beach extravaganza. 10s of thousands of people.

If the carnage of a bullfight is not for you, sit at a beach side restaurant, have some cold ones and tacos.

Nomads living in the TJ to Ensenada area might want to check it out.

Sunday.

4th of July

We're just down the road from GeoRock..... we'll hit the local parade, catch some live music, maybe fish a little, BBQ with some friends, then go up on the roof to watch the fireworks display over the lake.

Remember, no beer sales in Baja this weekend... even to us gringos who can't vote there!

Now, if I have any U.S. purchased Pacifico left, do I have to declare it when we come back north?

Dk
That is not entirely correct.
Gringos can still buy alcoholic beverages but they have to be in tourist bars, hotels, etc. Need I add...or at least that is the way it is here in Los Cabos!

Or at least I think that is what this says
