? re the '911' feature on SPOT

I've had the SPOT devise for over a year now and I like it - my wife really likes it as she gets an e-mail notice from me each day that I'm 'OK'. My question is this - has anyone used or know of someone who used the '911' feature in Baja yet. I'm curious on what the expected response time would be and how do the local authorities get contacted?
I've contacted SPOT with these questions and will report back whatever they tell me.

Race-Dezert.com had a good discussion on using the spot-tracker in Baja. Here's the link
