Camp ground closed at Scorpion Bay
The camp ground at Scorpion Bay has been closed by Perfepa and/or Mexican version of the EPA. Unknown when it will open. I still see people camping in
the federal zone outside the fenced area of the camp ground. Not sure what's up. Last week they fenced the camp ground up to the federal zone. We'll
see what happens "as the point turns." Can't we all get along?
The south road continues to be built, and should be done by November, or December. They are working diligently on the road.
Someone told us part of the north road to San Ignacio is paved. No work seen continuing.

Referring to Sean, Woody? I remember that red twin engine beechcraft - until it almost hit OJ while playing golf!! Too bad Jaime shot himself in the
foot years ago. He had a sweet thing going. Still, no worries if you know the Wind'n crew...unless they've been run out of town. Anyone for pizza? My,
my, as the point turns....Used to surf it alone, but maybe I'd be willng to pay to do it again...hopefully the locals will benefit.
Whoa there, Cowboy - pull back on those reins!

Does anyone think before they type? The campground is NOT closed. I just emailed a friend down there. He insists that the campground is open. The
Cantina was closed and remains closed.
Now this is a rumor. I've been told that Profepa has repeatedly been summoned (read into that what you want) to harass the Cantina/Campground people.
This has been done by a real estate guy, who wants to buy the land.

Hey, The camp ground outside of the Federal zone and the cantina is closed. Only the federal zone remains open for camping. I'm here, just talked with
the managers yesterday. It's not perfpa, they moderate the fed zone. It's the other agency like the EPA. Can't remember the name. The place is a ghost
town within the fenced area. Yes, the new owner fenced the entire camp ground within the fed zone just one week ago. Yes poor Ruben. Makes you wonder
how much a mordida and some stuborn Americans can be. It could happen to anyone with a lot that someone else wants down here. It sucks. How uncool.
Money talks. It's funny that the day this happened, Juan y Juan (John) disappeared from his lot. What a coincidence?

Thanks for noticing...
BajaChris, I have a family wedding today here in the States and had to catch the Friday plane home in order to see my neice get married today. The
tickets were booked last April. If you would like me to show you, please come by the next time I'm there, so I can meet you and I'll show you my
ticket verification receipt. (update: the wedding was beautiful!)
If you have any proof/evidence that I left because of the legal issues that the Cantina is facing, please post it. If not, I would ask that you please
do not post false information about me or Juan y Juan (or for that matter, any untrue/rumored information). Thank you in advance for your
consideration.
FYI, your thread headline and your repeated information about the campground being closed is false. The campground has never been closed. It is open.
The Cantina and some of the supporting buildings are closed.
Thanks.
Update:
Ruben, FYI, please check your facts. I think you are confused. I never have been the General Administrator of Surfeador Baja.
BajaChris, like I said earlier, please come by so I can meet you and give you the facts. Thanks again.

THE SCORPION BAY CAMPGROUNDS ARE OPEN
I operate the campgrounds and can tell you this. The campgrounds are open. It's the cantina and the palapas that were closed by PROFEPA August 6th. We
hope to have the cantina open again soon.
BajaChris, you hit the nail on the head! None of the fingerprints of the interests motivating PROFEPA will be found and PROFEPA will make it seem like
they are just doing their job.
Sounds like John, of Juan y Juan doesn't want to appear to have anything to do with it. Ask John if he isn't the managing partner of Surfeador Baja
and who his other partners are. Ask John if his attorneys gave PROFEPA gas money.
You'll know without doubt whose interests are supporting the attacks if and when you see who builds houses on the campgrounds.
Juan del Rio, these are questions not facts. If you are not one of Juan y Juan then pray tell who are you? The JuanyJuan website URL is: www.juandelrio.com

Rubenand......Does this mean the leesee can without retribution tear down the fences? What a great spot!!! Wev'e camped their before, and feel it
would be a big loss if that option was not available. Lets hope they can get it worked out. ++C++

I wish removing the fence was that easy. The title holder may have a right to fence his property. The Lessee has the right to use the property.
Yes, camp fees are still applicable. We'll be setting up an outdoor shower, picking up trash and paying the lease and the Federal Zone concession
fees.

I'm going to miss the Cantina. I hope they get it back open. If San Juanico is going to be a crowded place, then it sure is nice to sit under that
palapa, eat good food, put back a few cold ones and watch the waves.

when they line the point(s) with houses (think gringo hill) and put up wall to keep the little people out, then you'll really miss it. ask around for
Jaime, i hear he has all the lowdown. just don't give him any $...
