i like the "mad man max" motif this year.
for several years the BBP did a fly in to Burning Man.
this year it didn't happen as efforts went to Jimena relief.

always a bunch of planes at burnin' man.
never been - cost too much to enter the grounds to see a bunch of freaks!!

last year one of the cable/sat TV regulars - Travel, TLC, Discovery, IFC et al - probably IFC cause it was un edited - anyway a 1 hr film documentary on Burning Man with a lot of cruising interviews.
no "shortage" of full frontal nudity.
and the most bizarre peeples i have ever seen. all attempting to act "regular":lol::lol:

What I find interesting are the gadgets, vehicles and structures that get built. Many groups work all year on their designs. There are many interesting, low tech ways of dealing with the sun, wind, heat and lack of water. The guy who sent me this link is a retired school teacher from Oregon, a Mennonite from Bakersfield and says it's his favorite week of the year. He's just a regular guy who once a year, gets his freak on.
I'm just saying...

yeah - and what's amazing, the park service licenses it once a year on condition that 100% of what's brought in must be 100% taken out at the end of the festival. can you imagine?? but they do or they'd never get a successive permit to continue.

dt - you could fly your 180 right in and camp.
with a couple of folding bikes the place would be yours.
