New twist at a military checkpoint.
I drove home to Loreto last Thursday from San Diego and made the usual stop at the military checkpoint north of Loreto, I was waved straight thru by a
soldier and headed for the highway. I was then waved over by a guy in civilian clothes, not knowing who he was and him being on what I considered as
still being part of the checkpoint, I pulled over.
He came over to the window and began his sales talk !!!!!!! Yep, time share salesman !!!! I was amazed, not sure if he is actually off military
land or just has permission to hustle his crap there. SOOOOOOO, be advised.

Did you get a timeshare?

If that time-share worm knew how to sell, he'd pay the soldiers to keep you there at gunpoint 'till you signed on the dotted line.

I was going to buy one, but had a brief episode of sanity and decided to spend the money on beer and fishing.

It would do a great deal to stop the Timeshare sellers at the Checkpoint,
,but you must try my ole trick of putting a live Rattlesnake in the back of your truck or in the front seat. You will be surpised at the reactions you
get!! Yes in a Cage!
You can order Rattlesnakes through several people in Sweetwater Texas

Just wondering how far you let him get into his pitch. How many goodies he was offering. Enterprising guy. Knew he didn't exactly have a captive
audience, however. But heck. If you can't shop at Walmart without being approached INSIDE the store, then, I guess anywhere is fair game.

I just let it go on long enough identify this clown as a time share tic. He was hustling the new villas group development south of Loreto. Been
thinking of going back and buying two, then I can sell one for twice what I payed for it in just six months or so...time share guy said I could and
would he lie????

It kinda works the other way around. Once there have been substantial sales, buyer's remorse sets in; not to mention that paying high interest loans
on the purchase combined with escalating annual maintanence fees is a big dose of reality. Check out the re-sale market in a couple of years. You'll
probably be able to buy two and still save money from what one is currently selling for.

Actually that guy was working at the checkpoint when I took my wife to the airport in June. I talked to him for a minute and after he found out where
I lived he knew that there was no possibility for a sale but I ran in to him at the airport and we talked awhile until the airplane came in. I had
the same response as you and figured him for some kind of governmnet official and so I was very cooperative, just not cooperative enough to buy.

My favorite was the Military Checkpoint where the soldiers were trying to pick up Red Cross girls collecting change.
No mention of where are you going?, what is in the truck?, ect...
Just "Would you like to contribute to this pretty girl's Red Cross Can?"
The girl had to have the biggest contributions that day, nothing like a Soldier with a G-3 to make you feel like giving.

That is hilarious! Comments, too.
Thanks guys for making me smile this evening. I own two different TS's in Los Cabos. Anyone want a cheap one week rental?
Now I just need to work on a clever response if that should happen to me.
