No Almanac for Foreigners

Just tried to order 10 Almanac by Paypal:fire::fire::fire:

"Seller does not accept non US orders"

Tried the 800 number and same line....:mad::fire::mad::fire::mad::fire:

Tried again with a US shipping address....they took all my info, credit card # etc and when it came to them entering "British Columbia, their software choked on its tongue and lost the order...the telephone call centre girl was almost apologetic

WTF is with this guy:fire::mad::fire:

Does he want our business or is this a Buy-Sell American protectionism at its best???

I sent an e-mail to them as their home/ordering page suggests....but the guy has pretty limited corporate vision if he can see at all:fire::fire::fire:

On my e-bay store I only accept PayPal and I also accept no payments that are not United States .... It is a practical matter that saves a lot of trouble with billing and shipping .... sorry, nothing personel .

Kinda limits your market and business opportunities-----------pay pal is international, credit cards are international-----and all major parcel companies -- including USPS deliver internationally.

CR,
Paypal will convert the Canadian funds , I believe, and I wanted the 10 copies mailed to a USA address....what is complicated about that?

I didn't take it personally....it is real disappointing, however:no::barf:

If you are flogging these Almanacs, why not take a few extra moments how to figure out how to make more money. You will sell hundreds in Canada....or I will buy a US based copy somehow, scan the Almanac and sell it for $1.00 to Canadians....

Call your lawyer and see which is a less expensive route for you:lol:

Oh....don't take it personally:light:

Shari,
For you it would be free:saint:

In fact....maybe just give 'em away to anybody who wants one....leave a stack of them at preferred taco stands and Pacifico depositos:light:

Very few places will ship to a address that is not the billing address of the credit card. Protecting themselves from stolen cards etc. Dell computer would not ship to USA address with Canadian billing address on credit card. So it's not just the Almanac guy.

I have spent thou$ands by having US companies/merchants ship goods to US addresses with my Visa card with Canadian address....

Dell sells in Canada through their Canadian corporate structure.... http://www.dell.ca/

We even have electricity in our bigger cities now:lol::lol:

Even some podunk US outfits will facilitate such sales...even Ebay (a mecca for thieves) will use my PayPal Visa account to ship to a US address.

Can you name a few of those other companies that won't??

Just so I don't give them my business.:cool:

not sure what's up with all the USA/Canada shipping interaction,

but I just bought a band instrument from a music store in Victoria, shipped to US address, ebay & paypal..............no problemo! And shipping was only about $7.00!

USA-Canada is usually the same for shipping back and forth and cc companies take care of the exchange rate.

try again tomorrow????

It's the weekend, maybe wait until a weekday to call when there is actually staff on hand, not the [minimum wage] answering service.
