Nomad Gift List

A friend, who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, sent this to me asking that I post it under my name in exchange for free beer the rest of my life. What the heck.

My Xmas list for Nomads in no particular order.

Skeet: a new key board, custom designed with no punctuation marks.
Shari: An easy, simple and reasonable way for her to bring her husband up to the States in order to show them my part of the world.
Canadian Nomads: better neighbors
MrBillM: a Polish target pistol.
Pescadero: just one more day…
Bill Erhardt: Streaming video equipment, dish, the whole thing so we can watch his fishing trips live.
OldLady: a reduction in half of her vocabulary so we can communicate. Oh, and one day free from worry of the debt load.
Hook: lifetime pass for 2 to any Grapefruit League game.
Jeans: a post by Santiago complaining how his hard drive crashed and he lost all the old photos from BBBB1.
Dennis: a life
BajaGuy: free dog food for life.
Paulina: a really cool stairway and a puffer free zone
Gnukid: video from this year’s annual meeting of the trilateral commission.
Packoderm: a fully restored split-window VW van
JESSE: Anthony Bourdain blows off his show for a life in ‘Nam and they ask you to step in and take over.
Nina: 67 liberal senators
Flowers: a truck load of toys every Jan 1 for the rest of your life.
Osprey: a hefty advance from Penguin Publishing with the understanding that there’s no rush on the first draft.
Flyfishingpam: election to the governorship of BCS with a clear mandate from the people and the full backing from the DF to clean house.
Toneart: Great relief and happiness after reading today’s obits. Oh, and Sachmo’s first horn.
4baja: world record yellowtail
BajaCactus: Complete freedom from Pemex to improve your property any way you wish.
Diver: Notice that Ford is opening a repair shop in Asuncion fully stocked with diesel parts.
BMG: one day, everyone in the world wakes up and understands that their lot in life is generally of their own making.
Don Alley: a life free from arthritis in your fingers, hands and wrists.
soulpatch: a sudden rise in sea levels. 5 or 6 feet would be about right.
MartyMan: a nice telescope for your upper deck so you can actually see the water.
Barry A: a 50% increase in your portfolio.
Dave: Miracle Whip being banned from the earth.
SharksBaja: a five year drought
WoodyinOB: being able to change your name to ‘Woody in Asuncion’. And larger pants.
Capt. Mike: walking away from every landing.
Ken Bondy: uhh, this is a hard one as you already have it all. Oh well, Merry Christmas anyway.
Grover: a reason to come back.
Bajajudy: complaining to everyone you meet that it’s impossible to keep the shelves stocked.
Skipjack Joe: Never losing your memory.
BigWoo: new law that allows 50 and over to join Medicare.
Santiago: a mild increase in the housing market in NorCal so he has something to do other than log on to Nomads all day.
BajaNomad: a nice little cabin on the shores of Bahia de Guadalupe

I didn't make the list, not that I am complaining.

I guess David K got his present early....and that's why he's not on the list

But static sea levels would make a nice stocking stuffer ;)

Alas, when anyone on here chooses to make a list about others, they will always omit someone. How many thousand Nomads? No problema. As far as it went, it was interesting.

RIP?

Very witty and creative, Santiago!

In my gift, I like the Satchmo's horn part but I don't want to have to go where he is now to get it. I am not sure about the "obits" part. (Maybe this had to do with a private U2U ?) Obits don't consume my thoughts, however, and my posts strive to be positive, Humanistic, philosophical, helpful, soggy after Mulege floods, and bad attempts at humor. :o;).

Anyway, my inner geezer isn't ready to be the featured attraction in the obituaries. But if you should read about me, very dead, this is what I want on my tombstone: "A Visionary really in over his head, this time!"

Just add this guy>>>>>>, oh...and this guy>>>>>>:saint:

With all due respect I think you got Bajajudy wrong. She needs a few more dogs to add to her collection.

And don't forget Juan. He's running low on speedos I'm told.

Just kidding.

Merry Christmas to you all !!!

:(:(:(

It's OK. No, really,it's OK.

Will there be a B list? I'll be really happy to be on the B list:light:

Skipjack, if you don't want the hat, I'd be really happy to have it. Looks so warm and fuzzy, and it suits my politics.

Lifetime pass for TWO?

Oh, right, so I'll invite you down for the duration of the rainy season up there, eh?

Very inventive idea for the holidays, Santiago. Great list.

But you must come up with something for DK.

Maybe Tacoma dingle balls?

I'll take my gift wrapped in a simple bow. It looks like Dennis and I tie for second place in the best gift category - behind BajaNomad's cabin. I would be willing to forgo my split screen for a date with Bajalera at Jesse's restaurant with complimentary dessert and coffee.

Paulina, you're not going to be in your sockie at the time....are ya??:o:?:

Paula, don't feel bad....you're in good didn't-make-it-onto-the-list company! I know!! Let's fill Santiago's socks with lumps of coal, while he's in them! :smug::spingrin: Then let's make up a list to put him on...I already have the perfect title for the list!

Packoderm, if Santiago does gift exchanges, you better be prepared to dance until sunrise on that date!:bounce: Jesse just needs to add a dance floor!

Hay-sus: we couldn't think of something for everybody! How does Santa do it every year? You guys do the rest, I'm pooped.
And if I can get a little serious here, DK and Santiago are in the same boat as I suspect a lot of folks are. Here's hoping for massive failures of sprinkler valves and control boxes all over northern San Diego county.
All you home owners go take a long look at your house tomorrow. Check out the rotting shakes, splitting fascia, paint blistering on the south and west side, 20 year old toilets that take 3 gallons to flush, missing grout in the shower pan and tiles starting to pop, rain gutters starting to sag and fall off the eaves, HVAC units with a SEER of 7 or 8, sidewalks lifting up, unsafe stair railings etc etc etc. Break out a couple of bucks next year, hire a good, local, licensed contractor to fix this crap. Let me tell you, the only guys left are the good ones and you'll never get better work for less money.
I recently signed a contract for a complete stair railing tearout and redo that in 2006 would have gone for $5000, I bid $3300 and had to go to $2500 to get the job. Believe me, we were happy to get it.

You're welcome to it, Paula. Politics don't interest me.

Only fishing and photography.

I posted the hat as an example of labeling people without knowing anything about them (see above).
