Front yard view.........I just love this stuff.......NOT!!!!!!!
Only one more winter till we move to Baja. Taking requests for gently used tire chains, snow shovels and snow brushes........sale prices!!!!!
House is at the 5300 foot level, south end of the Virginia Range, just south of Virginia City, NV and just east of Carson City.

Sun came out for the first time in several days. Here's the view out from-
With the sun came warming temperatures. 56 F today! I've never heard of this...56F in the middle of January. It melted all the snow and made
everything that slushy rotten snow like in spring. Here's the view out the back at about 3" of sloppy slush just off the back steps.

room with a view
Here comes winter again. This photograph was taken right from our backyard slider as the first in a series of storms rolls into the Eastern Sierra.
Baja will feel mighty nice in April.

This was in early December, but we are expecting to get a lot more snow starting tonight, to continue for the next couple of weeks. Right now it is
pouring and hailing.
Location: Seven miles above Nevada City, CA. on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains; elevation 3600'.
Hoping to leave for Mulege around end of January but Mother Nature may have other plans. I will need to get the truck close to the house to pack up
and also need to dig out my boat and hitch it up. We'll hang loose and take it as it comes.
Hope the photos loaded correctly.

COOL! (and I mean COOL)...
Udo, I need to test my Tacoma in the snow... Looks like your place would work! A-TRAC maybe?

We live on steep hill...about a 13% grade.
My wife handles the snow really good in just plain-jane 4X4. But there has been several instances where the A trac came in handy. That was during
severe icy conditions. Just plain snow, the Toyota FJ (same as your Tacoma) works just fine.
There are three (3) friends who also have an FJ, and they could not even make up their driveway in 4X4, until I told them about the A trac buttons.
Now they are keeping their FJ's.
We are considering trading in the Blue FJ for a Yellow FJ, but the dealers are not giving anything worth while for a discount. If we do it, we will do
the deal in Texas which is not charging any sales tax in January and February.

Beautiful Pictures, Everybody...
but I have no photograph to share since I lost my camera to the hurricane.
Besides I'm down in Mulege right now, and I gotta tell you guys, the weather is perfect!
So, imagine this: See yourself on the south side of the river looking across to Loma Azul. There's blue water, golden sun and fluffy clouds, palm
trees and the scent of salt air. White crane and blue heron are nesting in the mangrove. As you step to the river's edge a raft of 6 pelican glide in
from the western island to land directly in front of you in expectation of a little gift for you to share with them.
