More FMT babble...
I flew to Puerto Vallarta last Thursday from TJ and aquired my FMT at the airport. Even though my travel documents cleary showed I was going for only
5 days the FMT is marked "180 days". When I returned to TJ I had to show it but they gave it back to me. I am going back in March, it will be
interesting to see if I can go back and forth without paying for another FMT.

If it's issued for 180 days, it's good for 180 days. It's like the US I94-W "tourist visa". You can cross on it as many times as you want, so long as
it's within the specified dates.

The wife flew volaris TJ/Cabo last yr,
was going for 7nts., 1 longer than the free
6nt 7 day fmt, which I understand they
have in the past, issued at the TJ Airport, they did not look
at nor collect her 180 day fmt upon returning to TJ,
which I believe they still collect fmt's if flying
Internationally Out of Mex, I would bet,
maybe not the farm, that you will be able to
fly again with your current fmt, inconsistency
seems to be a trait amongst Mex IMM, on more
than 1 occasion I've been told mis info from them,
buerocratic lazyness, I don't know, My concern
is when they stamp your passport when issueing
an fmt, they don't generally stamp a passport
when flying, but do at the Old Mexicalli crossing,
over on mexconnect, a guy crossing with an old
entry stamp, with no exit stamp, was fined/mordida, a sum of $600us,
they settled for somethinf less, but did pay
a price

The big dif is "international". Supposedly some treaty requirement makes the airlines confiscate the FM-T even when there is considerable time left on
it. So, anyone flying domestically within Mexico should not have to surrender their FM-T upon return. The passport stamp thing is apparently totally
hit and miss. I've never had mine stamped when entering by land. Last time I landed at Cabo, they swiped my passport but didn't stamp it. Go figure.

So, they stamped your passport at the PV airport upon entering. Just goes to show that the practices are all over the place. Anyone confronted with
claims of a fine should strongly protest.
