Wild Ride on a Tangled Shrimper- Jan 22,'10 Video

There was a little drama in front of our place in the wee hours of the morning in the storm. I awoke during the strongest winds and saw the lights of a shrimp boat alarmingly close to the rocky shore out front. A mile further inside the bay is where larger boats seek shelter during bad weather and I could see the lights of 15 or 20 of them in there- this boat was no where near the usual moorings.

The "Andres" didn't seem to be drifting and it looked like they were securely anchored in this precarious place . We could see their gear flying around on the deck. We turned on some lights and waved some flashlights in case they had lost their bearings and would realize they were still way outside and very close to the most prominent rocky punta.

As dawn approached BigWooo captured a mini Deadliest Catch episode on video. I had been focusing on the guys in the red foul weather gear and after a few viewings noticed the guy on the other side of the boat wrestling with tangled gear wearing only his skivies!
