Forum bickering and name calling
There's been some complaints on the forum about bickering and name calling. I think we need a lot more of both. Nothing more boring than a thread
started about something followed by 30 posts saying "yep, great idea, yes, I agree..."
Is that what happens at your local bar? Does everybody agree with everything that is said? Is there no descent? No other side, no emotion, no rancor?
Are all of you amiable and bendable --- not one old intractable cuss around? How very effing dull!
The only reason I tune in so often is to enjoy the diverse points of view, the steam we let off when we encounter opposition, the inventive language
of the point counterpoint. Do you want the moderators to fall asleep, the quit their posts out of boredom? I think not. They are needed to keep the
trolls out of our way so we can have occassional verbal dustups without much censorship -- friendly referees, if you will.
Baja is many things to many people and there are no ends to the way we see the place, use and enjoy it. I don't think the moderators/owners want only
those who are agreeable. I'm not suggesting uninspired disagreement -- at times I have been in the mood to agree with some posts. One two years ago
and another about, I think, seven or eight months ago.
