Reports of my death are somewhat exagerated....

seems that there is a rumor going around Bahia that I croked :o not yet, Ive gotten some emails and messages on my home phone that folks are worried so I figured this is the best way to let everybody know.

Note to others: See what happens when you don't go on Nomad's or check email for awhile?

Well... Debra, glad I still have the opportunity to meet you!

You're in a unique minority, lady, and I celebrate your unbirthday today.

Here's a link to Bette Midler beltin' out "Miss Otis Regrets... She's Unable to Lunch Today".

You may need to do a search on youtube: I especially enjoyed the campy BetteMidler/Joan Crawford pics. Fred Astaire was a hoot, too!

Glad they story was MORE than somewhat exagerated.

Dang Bob, I should have thought of that! (or maybe not?) :bounce:

I think I have gotten to the bottom of how this started, seems one of the "workers" whom has never worked for me (I was warned about him) was telling people that now that I have died he was out of work..........Sheesh! what a way to drum up business!

I did come to his rescue once when he was out of gas,.........not good deed goes un punished I guess.

Well as Mark Twain once stated - the reports of my demise are true just somewhat early. Did not use quotes as I could not remember the exact words. Good to hear you are in the same boat - so to speak. Jim

No it couldn't be true... since you alread died from heat stroke on the trail to Tinaja de Yubay, back in July 2001 on your first outing with us crazy Baja Amigos!

No help from your cell phone... only a well placed Viva Baja bumper sticker to attract attention!

Mike Humfreville was the first to find her body... that's his leg in the photo.

Seriously, very happy it was a false alarm my friend! Otherwise there would be thunder in the clouds as you and Mike H. statred one of your 'debates' aroud the campfire! LOL

At BBBB-1, Cielito Lindo, July 2001

With Mary Ann Humfreville and the gang, north of Gonzaga Bay. Lots of friendships started that trip!

I was in camp when the sad news hit - we all paused a moment, raised our glasses in salute and then everyone started fighting over who would get your unit.....
