Fuel prices / May 8th, 2010

New fuel prices, effective on May 8th, 2010...

Magna.............$ 7.89 pesos per liter
Premium..........$ 9.43 pesos per liter
Diesel..............$ 8.29 pesos per liter

These prices are in liters... since 1 gallon = 3.7854 liters and today (May 8th, 2010) 1 dollar = $12.20 pesos (+/-), we can calculate the approximate price per gallon:

Magna.............$ 2.448 dollars per gallon
Premium..........$ 2.926 dollars per gallon
Diesel..............$ 2.572 dollars per gallon

Happy and safe travels my friends!!!

Exchange rate...

Zac... On May 7th, in Tijuana, the places that buy/sell dollar/pesos ("casas de cambio"), had the exchange rate between 11.95 and 12.35... actually I bought a few dollars at 12.30... the exchange rate I always use, when I post the fuel prices, is an average from the local rates I see on the street, not the bank. I do not know what the rate is in the US though.

I do not believe I will be in El Rosario the 16th, I am sorry I will miss you... it would have been very nice to see you again... perhaps next time... I hope you have a joyful and safe trip my friend.

Thanks for the clarification. That's a pretty big spread between the bank rate.

Thanks for the well wishes. Hope to see you again soon.
