For a girl I love Scout, fun loving baja adventure girl, I need to think about the boy's name.

Laurie...
You must have been watching a recent re-run of "To Kill a Mockingbird."

p.s. I had to rush fast to post this before Skipjack Joe!

.
My suggestion for the baby's name:

Ole if a boy.
Lena if a girl.

Hmmm...I guess we need to think about how Mexicans will pronounce the name. For example, Zac is always called something that sounds like Esac, and my name (Zoe) sounds like Esoe.

Names need to be just the right fit for the little person, and not be something that other kids can easily make fun of, or that sound weird with the last name. Ronald David Bondy, for instance, could become Rondy Bondy. :o

Gotta' think about those things.

Now there is something to consider, will the baby have bath of the last names or one? Nowdays anything goes, so they may choose to hyphenate both together. Yikes yet another decision for Sirena to make. Whoever said a name is easy to choose???

aaw thanks Blanca that's sweet!

And the baby will have both last names, although we still need to decide if the last name on the mothers behalf will be Bondy or Arce...you might understand why I am thinking twice about the Bondy one...I had and still have lots of trouble from my peer group with that name hehe!!

I'm thinking (baby name) Arce Robledo....that has a nice ring to it =P
Mom won't be too happy tho!

Yes, moms can be hard to please sometimes, but it is now your turn to be the mom, so, what goes around comes around... Whatever decisions you make will be what you feel will be best for your new baby.... Kind of like a huge giant step into adulthood, but you will be great!!! After all look at all the support and advice you'll be getting around here!!!! LOL

For a girl, I like Marisla. The lips relinquish a smooth exhale that emanates from deep in the throat; the tongue recedes, slithers forward and flicks like a snake, and then does an elevator drop. Smoothness and complexity in only three syllables.

In English, we would call this a compound noun; a collaboration of mar and isla; sea and island.

In Spanish, it is beautiful to the ear...........

Olivia is a perfect bilingual name for a girl, as is Paula (;~) ), or maybe even Linda or Marisa, or of course Maria. Nice to have this quality with the baby's background and possible future places of residence. Of course she could end up in China or India-- so much for that practicality  There are many for girls, and there must be some for boys too, though they are escaping me right now.

Aside from Ricardo e Diana I like Baby and Kid. Like "oh baby, you are so cute, what a beautiful baby, what's your name kid? come here kid, would you go grab your uncle a nice cold Tecate".

Juan and Shari come to mind as names, just sayin.

How about Asuncion? Asuncion Arce from Asuncion.

Glad I could help.

You will choose a great name.

For a girl I actually like Linda, a double entendre, in English and Spanish.

In going with the Linda theme...my little girl is "Marlinda". I think the Mar and Linda sound really good together, but she is the only Marlinda that I've ever come across.

Her sister is Serena, who is anything but serene!! Thought about the Sirena with her, but went with the "e" instead of the "i".

Marlinda would have been "Marlin" if she were a boy...since daddy is a fisherman!

My MX hubby wanted to go with "Einstein" for a boy, first time around...maybe cause I'm a science teacher??? Try saying that one in Spanish!

I'm sure you'll come up with a beautiful or strong name for the little one. Congrats! H.

Wow some great suggestions!
I really like Marisla, and mom absolutely LOVES Marlin.
One of the names that Adrian liked for a girl is Layla, which I like very much also.
As for boys names which I'm having tons of trouble with I very much like Caleb, but then in spanish it would sound like Quelabarse..."To wash" hehe...I can just hear the taunts!!
So we've pretty much crossed off that one:lol:
