You can buy used 2-strokes all day long for about 5-600. Nothing wrong with that....
Mexico!! Where two can live as cheaply as one.....but it costs twice as much.....

Very fair price, especially if you live down there and want one.

I will bet he is selling it due to it's weight. His application requires that it be lifted or moved occasionally and 4 strokes are so much heavier,
per hp delivered, than the 2 smokers.

i have a 9.9 4-stroke and it's really light
i take it on and off all the time
no problems
a bigger 4 stroke like a 90 or 150 could be too heavy
i'll never get another 2-stroke after a 4-stroke
way better and quiter

if memory serves he had a nice inflatable that might have been sold a while back. maybe this was a spare motor for it?
i agree with Bob - once you have a 4 stroke a 2 is not the preferred method.
i do know that any piece of gear MM has is in top shape and kept that way at all times.

Does that statement apply to the Evinrude Fische 2-stroke-----I have heard the Evinrude is more powerful per HP, and just as clean as the 4-stroke,
and somewhat lighter?

i've been on a boat with one of those
one of the guys here in town used to rent it out
still not as nice as a 4-stroke
maybe more power per pound but
4-stroke is way quieter
and
no CASES of "stinky" 2-stroke oil to deal with
when running a 4-stroke
they are cleaner than the "old 2-stroke" but we're not in california
no need here

That's good to know, Bob-----thanks. I soon will be in the market for a new engine for my baby-Boston Whaler (13 ft. Sport) and was thinking
seriously about the Evinrude Fische after reading their ads.
Yep, CA is restrictive, and becoming worse every year.
