Agreed, I motorcycled to San Jose del Cabo in July 1991 for the total solar eclipse. Watched from the beach at La Playita. It was almost directly overhead just before noon so we had a 360 degree sunset effect. It was one of the most exhilarating visual events of my life. Also riding Baja in mid-summer was an adventure.

I live in southern California.

I plan on seeing the eclipse with my friend Don Julio, Respado. Just a few shots and before I know it, the moon will cross over the sun, the sun will cross over the moon or my eyes will get crossed.

Hey if we were lucky enough to view a total eclipse from Baja, you would have heard about from me a LONG tome ago! I have never even seen a partial one, I have read that a total eclipse experience is an epiphany!

It is Miscl. 'for sale' items that don't fit in the other classified ads forums (this is in the classified ads section)... You are not the first to mis-post in this. I have asked Doug to modify the forum name so it is clearer that it is an ads forum. He usually moves the threads to the correct forum, like Baja Questions and Answers (which is probably where your eclipse question belongs?).

See the Nomad contents page for the forums... Here are the Advertisement forums... Miscl. is at the bottom:

Don't worry, Capt.Mike...I will buy it! :yes::lol:

From the NASA website, this solar eclipse can only be seen in the very southern hemisphere, hardly visible from any land mass.

I wonder if it will cause any communications problems, though (?).

We have some friends who are on the cruise ship Paul Gaugin in Tahiti watching the eclipse as we speak. This is their 10th eclipse. They are certified eclipse chasers and have their vacation plans set up for the next decade, just follow the eclipse. They also take great photos of the eclipse which is very difficult to do. We have been lucky enough to have witnessed the eclipse in Zambia in 2001 and another in Egypt in 2006. The experience is one that is nearly impossible to describe and one that everyone should experience it at least once, IMHO. Unforgettable for sure.
