UK Baja Web Site

It's intersting to see how Baja is promoted in different parts of the world. Here is a link from the UK. Scroll down to see the brief PRO's and CON's of traveling to Baja (lower left).

Two week adventure for approx $2,300 USD.

Thanks for the insight, Bob.
I don't think that the travel agency that wrote the ad had been to Baja. Perhaps mainland Mexico.

UK blurb

I can't seem to find those royal stags on the site. Also, the photo of Loreto is not from Loreto. Some travel agent has slapped together a quick blurb from a good source of misinformation.

Two-week adventure indeed. If that's how they operate, booking a walk to the nearest teashop might be an adventure.

That photo looks like Mazatlan, not Loreto.

What a crock! I guess when you say this about Loreto it doesn't much matter that the picture is not from Loreto:

"Loreto, the oldest town on the peninsula, is probably the best situated one as it is surrounded by desert, mountain and the sea of Cortez. That said, it has not got much more than its scenery to offer."

If the picture were actually from Loreto, one might think that Loreto had some boating activities to offer :)

What a crock!! I have talked to a few young Brits traveling stone cold (no reservations) from S. Diego. I once negotiated a gas sale in Cativiņa for two very beautiful young ladies from London.

There is nothing wrong, Marc, with traveling stone cold all up & down Baja.
All of our trips have been with the adventure in mind:?:...let's see what we can find when we get there (wherever that may be).

I kinda thought the "Loreto" photos was the Cabo marina. Consistency of climate, indeed. As for Baja being the most expensive part of Mexico, what they almost got right is that in comparing the major resorts, Los Cabos does take the prize on expense. At one time, Cancun was the hands- down winner. But once Cabo began to develop their high end hotels, the relatively short and inexpensive flights from US West Coast cities supplanted Cancun. Two hours from LAX beats five hours any day.

["High prices aimed at American tourists (Baja California is the most expensive part of Mexico).']

Maybe true but have you traveled to the UK or Europe. I wouldn't say it's cheap by any means. Maybe a little better now that the dollar is doing better against the Euro.
