Geez, this is getting crazy, but at least we are being made aware and can stay more alert. Just glad you are ok and knew what to do.

Who let the dogs out?

A dog, that will bark at strangers, and is territorial about space, is the BEST means of defense available. It's hard to believe that any stranger
would attempt to get past a barking dog. Probably exclude miniature dogs though there is strength in numbers.)
For anyone traveling, a dog in your vehicle trumps the best car alarm system out there.
Good thinking on a dog at the front door!

My 60lb collie will lick any burglar or thief to death! Fish, keep your eyes open, and the bat at hand. Probably just some partiers stuck, but who
knows for sure?

Thanks I needed that...
Glad your ok.. and think you'll be fine, as long as Daisy doesn't pull the side of your house down...
Man that has cracked me up... still laughing.. your were ready big time!! .. ohhhh ... a Lion Dog.."Bear Spray" "Pepper Spray" and God knows what else

What a coincidence. WE had a visitor last night. He was big, potentially dangerous, and couldn't understand a word of English. He smelled bad, and I
wasn't about to go confront him. We just watched him through the window...until he had eaten his fill of the garbage out of the can, and ambled off to
join his bruin friends in the woods.
You guys can have northern Baja. The dangerous animals here don't have stereo systems (or AK47s)

Kinda sad that the situation has developed to where people who may really need help are ignored. No judgment here. But, I'm just wondering that if
that incident last week had not happened, the reaction to this would have been different. Could have been a bunch of local borrachos, that had fun on
the beach and just got stuck. Maybe these guys' parents were gonna be all over them. After all, does it seem smart to be raising hell on the beach all
night, with the intent of a home invasion? As I said, I'm not judging what the fish thief did, just the environment.

First let me say that I know things can and do happen everywhere--
But if I had to have all locked gates and killer dogs, I would probably move. Now dogs that will bark and sound an alarm, good, but as much as I love
dogs, I do not like the killers.
A few years back we were at the La Pinta in Catavina and some gringo jerk was there with his macho killer dog. We had to walk our dogs in a giant
circle around him and it took all he had to hold that dog back. And as he said, his dog would not hesitate to kill one of our dogs----and I a sure he
would not have stopped with our dogs!
But, to each his own. Glad nothing happened.

Way to go , fishabductor... ..stay vigilant. Glad to hear the dogs did their
jobs. Hope you have a specal treat for them tonight. Keep'em lean and mean. Take care of them and they'll take care of you. Thanks for the heads up.

No way. That type of rude insistance would be followed by more of the same, or worse.
They would never pull this crap on your Mexican neighbor.
Bear Spray for them. A beating with a bat while they're suffering the effects of the spray is also in order.
This is your life, folks. Keep it intact, or give it away.
The choice is yours.

Still think you should have taken Daisy out to say high.. would let Daisy find out what is going on, with you in control... a learning experience for
both.. and the individual and/or individuals that were out there..
Don't think Daisy is a killer dog, rather a very good and protection guard dog.. have an Austrialina Sheep dog... he will "plant" himself between an
individual or another animal.. and will not give .... put will still obey... on command, to sit.. he will sit right where he planted, if his spiny
sense is activated.. if no immediate thread.. he will heel ...
Makes for a even more effective guard dog.. and one can go for a walk with them.. which he really loves..... its been a number of weeks since I have
been able to walk him.. so it is a real treat for me and him when he get to "take" me out for a walk..
It's all good... and your out there in the boonies for sure... and requires a very calm and measured response ... seems all is under control... the
way it worked out..

This dog is actually great with our 3 other dogs, she loves to run and play with them. She is not a dog-fighting dog, she is a trained guard dog who
has not yet been trained to attack on command..that is the next level of training...however we are not sure if we will do this or not. We have only
had Daisy 5 days now. She is a great dog, very loyal, very well behaved and trained and very protective when things out of the ordinary happen... like
last night.
Our gate locks out cars and cows and we only have a 5 strand barb wire fence to keep the cows and sheep out, besides that we are totally open.
We are pretty remote, with no phone service, no police presenece and no cell phone service. It's about an 75 minute drive to town down a bad road. You
are on you own.

That explains it well---being really isolated is quite different---and I do hope Daisy works out----guard dogs good, killer dogs not so good.

I make it a policy to not deal with amateur drunks, particularly if there is even a sniff or hint of aggression. Their demanding tone said it all. We
are drunk and feel entitled to DEMAND your help.
I recall a situation many years ago in Mariachi Square in Guadalahara, raining, no business except two couples, men in shiny suites and women in what
looked like over done prom dresses. They invited us over to their table, commenced getting sh.. faced drunk, would not let me finish a beer with out
buying another and then the pistols came out to fire along with the music. Federales came and they tried to hand the pistol under the table to me!!
Enough said, lesson learned, you can't reason with a drunk.
You were in a one down position and smart to hold your ground and let them deal with what ever they were dealing with, good call on having a pack of
dogs in your situation.
