Iniciativa Mexico - Our Abalone Project Needs Your Vote...
A GREAT PROJECT FOR BAJA, MEXICO
We REALLY need your vote...
As some of you are aware, I joined up 18 months ago with a company here in the San Quintin Valley area called Ostiones Guerrero. My involvement with
the company has been to focus on a new project designed to repopulate a sustaining abalone colony out at San Martin Island. It has been a very long
and arduous process obtaining environmental impact reports, permits, inspections and approvals from PROFEPA, INAPESCA, the Mexican Navy and so many
other agencies I lose track.
We have submitted our project to a program called INICIATIVA MEXICO, where the federal government
of Mexico is looking for 20 projects to support, and the general public is asked to vote to help them make their decision.
I would ask you to take at a look a brief description of our project and if you find it worthy of your vote, we would sincerely appreciate your
support:
Iniciativa Mexico - Our Abalone Project
Thanks for listening...
Ron

EL MILAGRO LA BOCANA project
how cool is that !!!! i entered as well ... my project is called the EL MILAGRO LA BOCANA (Calidad de VIDA) or the La Bocana Miracle (Quality of
Life) and I asked for ..................... take a good guess ................ every BajaNomad must know and be sick and tired of my begging )))))))))) for ..... YUP - everything sports related hahahaha I asked for many
things, but amongst them I asked for a full on YOUTH SPORTS CENTER.
BajaGringo, you have my vote and best of luck !!! if you need help, La Bocana is very much protecting and having great success with its abalone
population. year after year. they have full time biologists on board and tanks of baby abalone.
Please take a look at El Milagro's Project and follow the same procedure .... THANKS THANKS THANKS

Reyes is familiar with that operation and knows the folks who operate it very well. What is different about our project (I think) is that I believe
the La Bocana operation is all onshore in tanks. We are going to transplant them back into their native habitat out at the island. Not something that
has been done much recently.
I am scheduled to tour the facilities up at Cayucos and Monterey next month but will try and squeeze in a trip to La Bocana if I can.
Really do appreciate your support. Will look for your project and give it some votes as well...

kidding by reading his resume at the time - I dont remember anything about him at the moment as I am in San Diego, but i am thinking this guy came to
la bocana as some sort of consultant ... sure wish i were home right now. bug me in 2 weeks so I can give you his contact info. He worked abalone
farms stateside for muchos anos ... very personable cosultant.

OK,
I got registered and voted for BajaGringo's project---really a good one, in my mind. (I think you are almost at 220 votes now)
Then because Blanca is so dedicated to unselfishly helping her adopted community, I looked for her project. Besides, a sports center for the kids
would be wonderful.
I found it, but when I tried to vote, the numbers did not change---so I will try again later. I hope it does not allow one to vote only for one
project???
Edit ---question answered while typing. Back to registering.
Edit---both projects voted for ---- split family vote.

I'd like to vote for your project in that I used to dive for abolone back in the early '50s and, in part, responsible for their great reductions in
numbers.n
I registered but when it came time to initate the session I entered my E mail and contrasena but nothing happened. What to do?

For those of you who are having trouble with the website (it's not very intuitive and it's in Spanish), here's all you need to know to register and
vote:
Click on this link to go to the registration page:
http://www.iniciativamexico.org/registro.php
It looks like this and click on the link that says Registro:

This is the registration page. The questions are easy and I listed them in English to the right. The last two questions you can either just pick any
one from the list or maybe this would be a good time to practice using your dictionary if you want to be technically correct. It won't make any
difference in the polling.

Just answer the easy math problem (to keep auto-spammers out), click on the box below it if you want to receive updates about the Iniciativa progress
and then click on Enviar to complete your registration.
That completed you will be taken back to the login page. Once there you will have to click on this link to our project to vote for it:
Cultivando Abulón para Trascender
There you will see this screen where you can vote for us (up to five times!) by clicking below where it says:
Dar un corazon

Thanks guys - all of us here really appreciate your support. I just checked and we are over 250!!!
