This is a NW breeze that is dry. If we had this outside temp and 89% humidity the heat index would be much higher. I believe the heat index is an combo of outside temp, wind and humidity.
It isn't too bad with the fan going. Better dry the humid.

Russ...you are not alone. It's over a hundred in Boise, Idaho. Eastern Montana is in the 90's. Western ND is on fire. Most of the USA is way too hot. And much of the midwest has high humidity to boot.

Just now watching FOX reporting on many wildfires in Russia. Rome is way hotter than normal..many days over 100F.

However...we have the opposite problem. We're freezing here on the Washington Coast...brrr...57 degrees.

Mike y Roz,

Hola amigos...Sorry we missed you guys. We drove into Squim a few days back looking for Purple Haze, but no luck.

We're now on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound via the ferryboat from Everett. Been eating dungeness and clams ..having a ball at a buddy's beach house. We spent some time on the Olympic peninsula..damn cloudy and coolish on the coast. Not at all like poor Russ in Baja.

We had to hurry here to attend a wedding 2 days ago on the island. If I had my druthers, I'd double back now and give you a shout, but I think we're pointing the bus east manana. I have my orders.

Not looking forward to the heat inland, but we'll be in the mountains soon enough. Trout for a late breakfast is my favorite. Til that time...ciao.

p.s. It damn nice here..down to 50's at night and highs of mid 70's. It's quite bearable..

Russ... the weather is perfect  for you to finally go look at the Magdalena visita ruins... Remember, we got there last July (2009)... and it is in you own back yard!

The road in from Km 162.5 is best route, and well traveled.

Redding is good today....typical Aug weather. Dry and close to 100, I can live with that. We will head back down to San Felipe when the weather starts to get bad. Nancy

It is freaky cool in San Diego County... all of July, and now August. Still the May Gray and June Gloom going on in the AM, and then just the mid 70's in the afternoon when the sun burns through.

I lived in San Diego for 12 weeks (boot camp) It was cold and foggy in the morning and burning hot on the parade ground in the afternoon. Actually it was perfect!

Was 51º at 7AM in San Francisco. We've not seen the sun for to long here near the beach. I will be in Mulege Sept 17 for a week or so. Should be nice and warm.

I have no problem with the cool weather we have had all summer. For long walks in the morning it is perfect.Lots of fog at the harbor today tho.The sun comes out in the afternoon, perfect for gardening.Only one problem is our squash plants got the "wet white fungus" from not enuf sun.
