TRIP TO HOSPITAL/ Becoming a Grandpa (edit: She's 11 now)

Hi Gang,

Well, it happened this morning at 1:57 am... My 'baby' girl Sarah had a baby...

Baby and mom are A-OK! Savannah weighed in at 6 pounds, even.

Good advise... I will leave the Visa card at home!

Sarah just texted, she is getting ready for a nap... I guess she never got to sleep after baby came and we left. So, I will hold off visiting until later...

David,

Wow...hard to believe little Sarah is now a Mom herself! Seems like just yesterday that she was a skinny little kid traveling along with you in Baja.

I know you and Elizabeth will be great Grandparents. Enjoy your time with them!

So different seeing her holding a baby... when it was just a 'few' years ago she was in Baja, holding a rattlesnake!

Or, hiking around the sulfur mine with dad...

Or visiting old mission ruins...

Again with the rattlesnakes!??

Not thinking dad was funny when I told her the El Volcan geyser could erupt any second, as she got in for a close up at the top!

In 2001 with elgatoloco (Matt) and El Camote:

Nope, my Sarah isn't the little girl anymore... as captured by Bedman at Las Hamacas, Bahia de los Angeles, 2002...

She's a mommy now!

Grand kids are a wonderful thing, if I had only known I would have had them first.

Ok, now the fun begins. Just think of all the great fun stuff you get to buy for her. Every kid is a budding musician, buy her a whistle first, heck any kid can play a whistle. There are lots of fun things that she can have on a long road trip such as, a Jew's harp or harmonica. I accidentally found the perfect distraction for my grand kids for that long road trip, those plastic balls with the string between them that you bounce up and down.....what a racket....my kids love me, the grand kids even more. The fun part is that they are old enough now to get what I'm up to and back me up all the way.....what fun, finally getting even with the kids.

Enjoy.......dt

Muchas felicidades DK!!!

Wow, both mommy and baby look amazing! I'm glad everything went well, I had her in my thoughts and prayers since my mamma told me she had gone in to labor and I'm super happy to know that there is a new little soul that inhabits this world.

I hope to see the whole family very soon so we can share our little bundles of joy (and poop:o  )
Thanks for the pictures! Send my love and a big hug to Savannah and the baby!!
