Motorcycle rally to "The Rock" November 4th thru 6th
Just a heads up for those that like to do motorcycle rallies down in Mexico. The ride down to the "The Rock" (Puerto Penasco) is really a fun one and
new toll road makes the ride really a smooth ride too!
I am going with a group from Calexico, to which I have made this ride two prior years and loved both. I will have photos that I will post some here
and others upon request to emails as some can be R rated at times,LOL!! In two years attending these rallies I have never seen anyone getting out of
line or even one fist fight. Now, they have some great bikes on display downtown that you will really enjoy if you bike.
Towns people and police are really helpful and do their best to make your time there a good safe time. Some friends stay at Mayan Resort and I like
the Penasco Del Sol which is outstanding. They also have numerous other hotels but you need to get a reservation as they sell out quick by mid
October. Take Care and Travel Safe-------- bajafun777

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Ken, I will post some here and Mcfez the site you listed shows just how crowded it gets but still lots of fun and meeting new friends. They had two
ladies on a trike motorcycle last year that were pulling a coffin trailer behind them. Everyone was wondering what was in the coffin, as it was real
and when they opened it up it had a BBQ grill inside, beer keg dispensory, iced area for sodas, water, etc. This was just one unique type of things you
will see,LOL. I won't go into the tops up and chests out because I could not show those here anyway,LOL!! Some of the best custom paint jobs you have
ever seen on bikes, they actually trailer down to prevent damage fromt he road but they are really nice. Again, hotels go fast so if you are thinking
of going don't think about it too long unless you like sleeping on the beach in a tent,LOL. Take Care and Travel Safe----- "No Hurry, No Worry,

You mean the El Golfo road is now a toll road? We did this run last year and the road had just opened and was free. What's the toll?

The backside going into El Golfo is still free but you can link off of the two lane going back up to border on the new toll road takes you up to San
Luis area and then we ride on to Mexicali and cross over into Calexico going back. Smaller gas tanks on bikes should make sure someone following with
extra gas on this trek just in case. As you know some have a hard time just making it to the one gas station in El Golfo. Then they have to go up that
sandy hill to get gas which makes it interesting with all of the other bikers doing the same thing, right??
Having my wife follow us in Jeep with trailer just in case someone breaks down and carrying extra gas just to keep the ride FUN and no OMG I out of
gas in nowhere desert lands. Took some small individual gas holders in our sandle bags last year. My Goldwing that I took did not need anymore gas
but if I had taken the Harley I would have, as all of my buddies with their Harleys had to get gas in El Golfo which some made by the skin of their
teeth. Take Care and Travel Safe "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

Better than the Sturgis rally? Must be...it's in Mexico. Thinking about going this year but must make it in 2012.
