Yah, I love the place... but I am not the only one! All of us here on Baja Nomad loves the place... I just happen to also love old California history,
maps, and writing guidebooks... So, while I am still alive and am able to share... I will!
I am also passionate about my country and the freedoms we have... and have traveled and lived abroad (besides Mexico)... So, I know what we will lose
if we let it slip away due to ignorance or apathy... So, I apologize for going 'political' on occaision when I read something that defies logic or
good sense.
I got 'Baja Fever' when I was almost 8 years old with our first Jeep trip to Baja in 1965... to Gonzaga Bay! A trip down the entire length of the
peninsula came in 1966 (Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas, 800 unpaved miles of over 1,000).
Anyway, I have been collecting Baja books and maps since I was a kid in the 1960's... I have felt the need to share information to other Baja fans of
the changes with the building of the Transpeninsular Highway in 1973 with a self published guidebook (I was 15), which led to a published updated
version when I was 17... then lots of road reports in Tom & Shirley Miller's Mexico West newsletter in the 80's and 90's... then the Internet
starting in 1998.
Hope I can inspire a desire to find fun and adventure in Baja for anyone who seeks it!
