Speaking of old age, I can't resist telling my Nomad friends this story. Apologies in advance because it is NOT Baja related. I played varsity baseball at UCLA in 1961. For those of you without a calculator, that's 50 years ago. I was a right-handed pitcher, not great, but good enough to letter and start a few games. The UCLA athletic department contacted me a few weeks ago and (after confirming that I was still alive) asked me to play in their Old-Timer's game. It was last Saturday. I was actually the starting pitcher for one of the old-timer teams. I pitched one inning, got hammered for 4 runs, but otherwise survived with only a lot of pain for a few days. Here I am in action, bringing the heat:

Happy Belated Birthday Ken! Thanks for the baseball story. You've still got the arm, and the pitcher pose! I bet it was a fun day.

Saludos!

The batter doesn't look like an old timer to me. No wonder you gave up 4 runs. At least you threw strikes.

Happy Birthday, Amigo.

I guess all of that mischief in Egypt postponed your trip.

Thanks to my Nomad "family" for all the kind words, very unexpected and very appreciated. Correct Igor, UCLA of course cancelled the Egypt trip. Very bad timing, but it was better than actually being there when it happened. We are now weighing our options. Thanks again to all of you for your kind words. Dennis, the infielders were there but they sure left a big hole up the middle. That explains everything........almost.
