L.A. BAY ART SHOW - as seen in the Baja Times

Bahía de los Angeles Art and Craft Show & Sale
The 12th Annual Bahía de los Angeles Art and Craft Show & Sale begins on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the salon of the Natural History and Cultural Museum. The show and sale will be held daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. through May 1. A talented group of local artists will exhibit collections of oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, stunning gourd creations, beautifully crafted wooden objects, jewelry and fabric items. To begin the show, a reception — open to the public — will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. Admission is free. For more information about the 12th Annual Bahía de los Angeles Art and Craft Show & Sale, contact Mary Bandy at e-mail: george.bandy@gmail.com

Located 380 miles south of the U.S./Mexico border in one of the most breathtaking areas along the Sea of Cortés, Bahía de los Angeles is a small fishing village of about 600 people. It overlooks 16 picturesque islands and is surrounded by rugged mountains and a lush desert of cardons, cirios and ocotillos. It offers any artist an assortment of landscapes to paint and a wonderful environment in which to be creative.

“L.A. Bay” is approximately 295 miles south of Ensenada on Highway 1 to Punta Prieta, then 41 miles east on a paved road. The tranquil village features a good range of hotels, camping facilities, restaurants, markets, sport fishing services, gas stations, auto mechanics, Internet cafes, a museum and other nearby points of interest.

Thanks for the heads up...I should be down there this Saturday and be around until the 17th...so I will hit up the show. I bought a few cool watercolors there last year. There are some pretty talent people in LA Bay.
