Farmers Market and Festival, San Javier
Just wanted to invite everyone to a market of regional foods, sierra made artisan crafts, organic produce and demonstrations of unique ranchero skills
like making olive oil from the historic San Javier olive grove, braiding rawhide riatas and the tradition of toasting green coffee.
The Market and Festival will be April 16 to 24 daily from 10- 6 in San Javier, west of Loreto 30 km. The first 10 miles of the road is paved and the
rest of the road has been recently grated.
For more information and a schedule of events check out www.livingrootsbaja.org.

Very cool!!! The mission alone is well worth the drive... but a festival sounds like a blast!
It is a beautiful drive up from Loreto on a new highway (was half completed in 2009):

I checked the website but no update on www.livingrootsbaja.org
Does anyone know if the festival in San Javier is an annual event?
What would the dates be?
Looks like big fun!

Yes but that was from 2011 website update and post, I hope the festival was a success last year and is an annual event now.
At any rate a visit to San Javier mid to late April is on the to do list.
Can anyone confirm the dates this year?
Perhaps it is tied to Semana Santa?

Just trying to be funny David: Yesterday we commented on some of McFez's posts. One had pictures of the progress of the malacon construction.
SanFelipeAnita promptly posted that the pics where copyrighted. And two other post's from McFez were promptly removed from the thread.( one was called

Didn't mean to high-jack this post either, sorry.
