A quick trip to the Sacramento Mile!

Packed up with two of my partners who used to ride flat track and made the run down to central Cal for the first Sacramento Mile in 12 years. Standing room only. The very best in the business. two classes 450 cc Pro singles, and 750 cc Grand National twins. 130 mph on the straights. Averages around the one mile oval ran just under 100 mph. Local rider Chris Carr's farewell tour, he and the national #1 exchanged the lead countless times in the 25 lap main. In the end he came up short by hundredths of a second.

In the Pro Singles, 90 pound 5 foot tall Shayna Texter placed third. She's been riding since 3, has solid brass ovaries, and this old phart is in love!

It had been a lot of years since I worked on a race team at Ascot Park. This was pretty damned racy. Here's the first lap of the main. I'f you're a motorhead, turn up the volume.
