Major strom!

I'm in the middle of a major wind storm right now! High gust at 61mph and average for the last 10 minutes 47mph,.... Just had a 67 gust. My neighbors new roof is dancing and threatening to leave the neighborhood. I can't get my garage door closed so it's like a hurricane in there.
Gotta go

it passed through Loreto about 8:15-9:15. don't have a wind gauge so can't say how hard the wind was here. now sticky/humid/overcast.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...

That chubasco blew up out of the south and hit Loreto around 8:30 a.m. A south wind of about 10 knots jumped to 30+ for an hour or so, and now is back down to around 10 out of the north. It would have been a bumpy ride offshore in that one.....

That's high on the Beaufort Wind scale when it starts to flip letters around on your keyboard.

Thanks for the report Russ and the picture tells it all. It's those sneaky one's that get you sometimes...

Currently across the peninsula from you it's 81°, 82% humidity, and wind out of the SE at 6mph. 100% cloud cover

Thanks for the heads Up. Warm in Asuncion with a south wind! Direction seems unusual?! Any rain? Gather up the livestock and chilruns. Plenty of cold beer. Hope everyone is alright. Tio

The wind changed a bit now. A little more from the south and in the 30's. Also I was able to close the garage door. A while ago I was looking out towards the NE and it hit me 'something was different'. The wind had tried to push my Polaris ranger in the arroyo. Went out and set the brake. Ouch! that hurts. Covered in wet sand. The shower was really nice though. We had just enough wet to make the sand stick. It's caked on everything. It's only noon so I guess I'll be cleaning once this thing blows through. Gotta go get my patio stuff....
Later ---- I hate washing windows!

ahha. Lots of thunder now and sky is very dark with the rolling cloud bottoms coming from over the mesas to the North east. Of course the guys just turned off the mixer after doing a big roof and trave pour!

Most of this one stayed, like usual, over the sea.

On the Pacific side

HAIL for about 1 min, then a couple minutes of big rain drops. Now the wind is hot and turning on from the East! Looking thru the bennies, huge dust clouds off the sand dunes across the bay and giant white caps heading this way . lots of thunder.

Great timing. A couple of hours ago maestro abañil Martin was up on the 2nd story roof with a large metal concrete float in his hands.

The gulf can be a fishermans dream BUT from time to time when something like that comes up it can make your day truly memorable.

Few years back I was out way to far looking for Dorado in my 14' tin boat on the back side of Smith, the thing you have can be seen coming but a westerly with no clouds no thing but wind in a 1/2 hour or less makes for pucker time:o

We spent the nite on the back side of Smith sitting on a rock, out of smokes, hungry, black ass nite and no sleeping for sure and trying to keep the boat from getting beat up.

Just another fun day on the gulf:lol:
Rob

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

I think the worst is over now. Wind outta the S below 20mph. I've got most of the patio furniture back but it's caked in a sandy mud. Hell all the birds just flocked in so I guess they're thinking the worst is over also.
20 min later... lots more cleaned up now and it's really nice working weather for a change. 82º 15mph S breeze cloudy and drizzle.
3:15 all is back to nice again. Partly cloudy, SW breeze at 10+ I have the windows done and only 2 more screens to wash. Temps gone from nice to work in 82º to I don't want to do this 89º but with the westerlies it 60% humidity and do able.

Whew, glad I didn't go fishing today. The wind took down 2, 40'+ palms, my awning and scattered debris everywhere. 2 cars were moved only minutes before the palms crashed down. Power came back about an hour ago. Temps climbing , now only 92. The rain lasted for 2 hours and felt good. First real rain in 2 years according to Pepe.
