Bread for the Dead TJ Style

From Ed Bedford, a reporter for the San Diego Reader.

The pictures are amazing.

Ever been to El Molino? Best panaderia in Tijuana, they had delicious Pan de Muertos there the other day.

A Response From My Friend, Dining Diva

"GJ, thanks for the link.

The Chicano Studies program at City College in San Diego sponsored an ofrenda competition on Wednesday this week.

Some of the altars were humorous, some were simple, others were quite touching remembrances of relatives who have past, but they were all beautiful.

Pan de Muerto was prominent on each [altar].

There were 2 face painters, one of which was doing equisite work. They also had stations where people could decorate a skull (paper maiche, not sugar) and learn to make crepe paper flowers.

This is the first year they've done it and I think it was really successful; they had a great turnout."
