A STORY OF BAJA WISDOM FROM THE OLD SAGE........

One day an old Baja camp dog starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a bobcat heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old camp dog thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep trouble now!"

Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the bobcat is about to leap, the old camp dog exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious bobcat ! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"

Hearing this, the young bobcat halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the sage brush.

"Whew!," says the bobcat, "That was close! That old camp dog nearly had me!"

Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby rock, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the bobcat. So, off he goes.

The squirrel soon catches up with the bobcat, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the bobcat.

The young bobcat is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"

Now, the old Baja camp dog sees the bobcat coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?," but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old camp dog says...

"Where's that darn squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another bobcat !"

Moral of this story...

Don't mess with the old dogs... Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! Brilliance only comes with age and experience.

AmoPescar,

Despite what YOU may think...David K is NOT who YOU think he is......

Your evaluation of him falls far short of reality........

Not having had the pleasure of meeting you personally. I don't know how well you know David K. Obviously not well enough or you wouldn't have given the credits you did in your post above.

I, on the other hand, have been to social functions, had c-cktails and hung out at the beach with him. He is also a neighbor of mine, in that we live within 10 miles of each other.

I am also in a business that has trained me in the techniques of interviewing, interrogating and evaluating people. Giving me the ability to make an accurate assessment as to who they really are within 10 to 15 minutes of contacting them. I'm sure even David K would verify that, having had numerous contacts with people in my line of work.

I say again.

"Despite what YOU may think...David K is NOT who YOU think he is......and your evaluation of him falls far short of reality."
And I am also sure that many on this board would agree with me in that respect.

In fact your description of David K is so inaccurate that it does him a dishonor...... David K is not.. "just a NICE GUY with a BIG HEART"............... David K is probably THE nicest guy you'll ever meet and he's ALL heart........ (And what the heck is squirrelly anyway ?)

So there......:P.... That's my story and I'm stickin' by it.
Bet you thought I was going somewhere else with this didn't you...............

And if you don't like it, I can only say one thing..........."Don't mess with the old dog"........

BTW......Miguelamo, I see you also live in north county San Diego. Maybe we three can get together one day for an interview, interrogation and evaluation of you. Over c-cktails of course, I'll look forward to it.........

Mr. Kashey, your check is in the mail :light:

Seriously THANK YOU! I may not always come across that way on line (specially if you haven't met me and spent some time with me)... Perhaps because I have a strong passion for America and Freedom and am fierce about seeing it slip away from us? I am passionate about Baja California and I am convinced it is a magical place with special powers that we Nomads are attracted to.

Amo Pescar is a friend and a former business partner... so I think you mis understood his reply... or maybe you are prodding him?

Amo and I were going to have an off road Baja tour business and even had a 4WD van that we used on 3 trips in 2001 to test it out with our fellow Baja Amigos (pre-Baja Nomad days of Amigos de Baja). See http://vivabaja.com/van1 and http://vivabaja.com/bbbb2 for photos. Sadly events that included the 9-11-01 attack ended the plan.

Here is Amo Pescar and I (April 2001) on the Golfo-El Camino Real, southeast of San Borja... checking out interesting places to take our tour customers. Neal Johns showed us this place at San Gregorio...
