Great Baja Off Road Tire
Michelin has developed this airless tire which has built in compliance for running over rocks etc. The military has been testing these and they are
supposed to hit the market early next year. All of the obvious issues in supporting air tires are gone.
Maybe they will give David K a set to test on his Toyota?

Fun stuff... I will need to test it on Shell Island's bottomless sand beach and the Mision Santa Maria road to give it the two extremes I put my
Tacoma through!

The inner portion looks like it has some flexibility. How much would be the question. Weight of vehicle etc. would be a factor.

Very interesting design for the 'rim' with the honeycomb look. Since one cannot air down with these that honeycomb design might help you get out of
soft sand. It would be fun to test them out, for sure.
The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

That is the going to be the problem for sand driving... to 'float' you must have more tread contact on the sand...this spreads the weight over a wider
area and reduces the sinking in.
