I don't consider myself a Baja expert, 1 thing
I remember reading, unconfirmed, was that the
end of the Mexicna/American War, 1850 or so,
land was to be given to the US by Mex, Mexico
was prepared to give the US the Baja Peninsula
if we had asked for it, the US didn't so it was not
part of the deal, there may be a few who wish it
had been, I'm glad it is the way it is,
flaws and all
