El Mano Negro and Spa Buenaventura

I am sure that all long time posters remember the great Turtle Bust and all the postings about El Mano Negro taking over the restaurant from Olivia as well as the hotel. Went by the other day on my way to La Paz and the Restaurant is busy and loaded with people but the hotel looks like a bomb went off in there. Guess El Mano Negro just wanted to raise hell with everyone but has moved on to greener and greater pastures. Time sure has a way of proving the "truth". Next time I will have to make sure to have the camera and take some time to stop and chat with Olivia.

I've been waiting for this post.

Accusations came freely but apologies, not so.

Well said. There are a handful of self-righteous and self-absorbed people who post with frequency on this site, pleasuring themselves by attacking the character and motivation of others, living in what I imagine to be a lonely prison of their own making....An apology is a foreign concept to people like this.

Thank God that in the end, it is not their petty comments and lies that matter to anyone other than themselves. Life has a way of weeding out the truth about people and the proof is in the way they continue to live and enjoy their lives, amongst their friends and family, without the heavy burden that wicked-tongued people carry around with them their entire lives.

Anyone in Mulege or elsewhere know if there was a settlement or is this still a pending legal matter? June of 2010 I camped at Reqqueson and visited the bar/Buenaventura a few times. Mark was enjoying some good fishing so I never brot up nasty issues. The homes nearby were not closed off but the Hotel looked abandoned?! Any news Tio

Let's not forget the five gringo homeowners who were evicted after being milked for back rent, legal fees and ejido bribes...then had their houses trashed. I know as I was one of them........

I am glad you posted as I always worried about the homeowners who were there but last week at least 3 of the houses looked really good and two were occupied.

I am really curious about whether this guy just moved on to greener pastures or what.

Hola Amigos!!!! Long time reader of this forum, first time poster!!! My sisters family found buenaventura when mike george had one house built and resturant only. They fell in love with the place and got me hooked on it for many years to follow!! We vacationed there 9 years in a row with our young sons. When mike left and Olivia was on her own, Mark came by for a beer and fell in love with the place> He has been there through all the munoz crap!! Now it looks like he may have a shot at making it his and olivas place for real!!! I hope so.I will post more of our vacation stories later!

Nope, no one got their house back...all evicted....I don't know who is occupying the homes now. In the past Munoz had some of his employees in one and that Jimmy guy from the past bar fight was in another...Mark and Oli have won 3 of the court cases against them so far...I was told Munoz and his folks just pulled up stakes and left....Maybe the prior owners of the hotel, who live in Italy, will get it back...it was purchased on the easy payment plan 6 years ago by Munoz and Corona.....
