Tis the season...To be CAREFUL...la la la lala..la la la la

Juan's cousin is a Disconsa delivery truck driver and stays with us often while on his route. He always has the latest news on alot of fronts. Last night's news was that the telegraph office in Abreojos was held up yesterday and the ratas headed out the coast road so the place was teeming with cops last night...wonder if they caught the guy.

As well, there was a stick up of the Bahia Tortugas coop...sounded like the payroll was heisted....so just a heads up folks who are travelling...beware of highway robbery on the back roads...the ratas know people have money this time of year.

Most of the hoists are well planned and targeted...like the payroll trucks etc. and not tourists...but I figure it's good to be a bit more aware of this during the holidays.

The Mexican version of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. They always like to hit payrolls.

3 people, one pistol. not from the immediate area. 200,000 pesos and the clerks car. I heard the car was found up around La Bocana, so sounds like the bandits headed North. Crime everywhere I guess.

Yes....be VERY careful!

opps...just a minute or so ago I posted this in the wrong thread ..the Jardine murder. Way out of liine there. Well, hell anybody can make a few...hundred...mistakes, right my Canuck amiga?

Violent and unexplained deaths occur all over the world. And since the transpeninsular highway came to bless us... Baja Sur is no exception.

I know this might shock a few Nomads and I certainly don't want to scare off any potential visitors to our beaches.....but....off the top of my head, I can remember at least 7 bodies in and near the Bay over the years. A few were criminal acts (murder) and most were accidental or undetermined. It is what it is.

Wait...just recalled a murder victim at Burros Beach when during a beer fest... make that 8, then...sheesh.

Dang, then there was that handless & footless corpse George and I found on the beach at Punta Chivato in the late 70's..

I recall Doc Lyons took the skull to San Diego forensics for a dental ID,but nothing came of that.. hmm...9

Well, maybe it would be best if didn't mention any more bad news... I'm not an ostrich, but perhaps do yak too much at times.

Tell you what, I'll do a thread sometime on all the Baja bad stuff that I personally can clump together and verify...it will be very short...compared to a few hundred threads I've already written about the uncountable good things of Baja Sur.

Of course, this might be all just good fodder for a book about Baja...but then..maybe not.

May they all rest in peace ...in a roomy cemetery.
