Hola,heading down to my winter home(bcs) and was, curious as to how many folk's are down this season,,1..few 2...the same 3...no camp spots left ..

Recently got back from 2+ months RVing BCS. Definitely fewer tourists and part-timers than last year. We spent most of our time around Bahia
Concepcion. The gringo developments (like El Burro, Posada, Playa Coyote, Punta Arena area), were no way near full judging from visits and shoreline
boating (lots of shuttered houses) and none of the camping beaches were full, some almost full, some almost empty. A lot more Canadian plates than
American.
BCS is such a beautiful place. We're heading back after Easter and staying until it's too hot.

We're planning to spend February exploring Baja by truck. Not much camping this trip, mostly B&B's and Inns.
Would love to make it as far as Todos Santos, but it's more likely we'll turn around in Loreto.
We would enjoy making as many personal Nomad connections as possible. I love hearing other people's stories about what they dreamed and how it all
worked out.

We are seeing quite the opposite....busy as we have ever been this last October through December...and January has started off really strong. I spoke
recently with the nice folks at Baja Amigos and their business was up a whole lot too. I guess it just depends on where you are going....

I'll be there during February. Look for a white Tundra with a tire atop the cab. We may spend a night at the Desert Inn, and camp at Santispac or
check into Las Casitas in Mulege.

The vendors have been telling me there are fewer folks in Punta Chivato and no one on the camping beach. For me it's nice and QUIET

hola, dont,,get to hear much from that side of the pond,,,YA, last winter ,,baja was slow,,But,that, does have some beni's....more, open camping
spots...but less girl's,,guess I should do what the ex-wife,said.."marry a girl down there"...LOL....not shur if, I spelled hook right in

You shouldn't have any problem getting a camping spot at Santispac. I don't know what's been happening there in recent times, but something's not
right about that place. It seems to be the least-occupied of the regular spots along Conception Bay these days. Problems with the ejido? Politics?

We just came back from La Paz to Santa Rosalia yesterday and got to look at all the license plates on South Bound Vehicles and found out that except
for Baja California Plates the highest numbers were SOUTH DAKOTA and
BRITISH COULUMBIA.

The South Dakota plates can be explained by how easy it is to register a vehicle there, it only takes a PO Box, I'm told. That, and they charge very
little for the registration.

THat's an old radio term,,,O.M.,, from what I understand (very little) on the dokota plate gig,,you dont need a P.O.box,..I have ,,started ,,to look
into this,,for one of my truck's,,(77 dodge B300) and ,to me ,to hell, with reg in Calif..it's more than out of control,,matter of fact,,,it's where
the term "highway robbery" was reinvented....lol ...................k&t

South Dakota has made major changes to its registration requirements. One must not furnish proof residence ie. an electric bill in your name in the
state. Other changes too. Looks like the ride is over.

I have SD plates on 1 boat, 1 fifth wheel, 1 motorhome, and plan to add another boat and coach soon. Saves mucho dinero.
Santispac Beach...was just there yesterday playing poker at Ana's. Plenty of campers from the Annex to past Ana's. But still lots of room for more.
I think the Jake brakes from the semi-trucks coming down the grade is annoying to some...and it's hard to get away from them if you decide to camp
near highway access beaches of BOC.
Gringo count seems the same as any other year.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

There is absolutely nothing on the SD Motor Vehicle site about any kind of change except for an increase in fees for commercial vehicles. Also
interesting to note that Clay County, where most of us gringos have registered our Baja vehicles, only has a total population of 4,878 housholds but
issued 16,255 vehicle registrations in 2011.

POMPANO, in previous years you have posted pictures of a driving tour past a lot of the beaches south of Mulege. I really enjoy checking out each of
those beaches to see how crowded they are and who's on them that I may know. Please do this again, I couldn't make it down this year and would love to
see what I'm missing.
