Pining ...

When the snow finally melted off the top of our camper, the damage was visible. 3' of snow covered with 3" of ice was a little more weight than the old roof could hold. Made me realize that my occasional daydream of hitching the camper and heading to Baja on a whim, won't be possible for a while.

The RV mechanic came by to give an estimate to repair the damage and as we went over things I found little chuckles ....
"The frame is warped from front to back"..... Ah those Baja roads.
Shari, remember when I bunny-hopped the rig onto our property ?
"What's with all the sand in the shower drain ?" ..... Ah ...
"What's with the 2 cases of empty Pacificos ? .....
:lol::lol:

But sadly I realized that it's been 3 years since our last aborted trip as far as El Rosario.
Still seems like last year.
Thankfully, we'd made it 6 years in a row before then and many more before that.

SOOOO looking forward to our next trip. !!!!!!!

Thanks all for reminding me of the changes and sameness of my favorite places.
Here's to next year !!

On edit:
I just checked with my wife and she confirmed that it's only been 3 years, not 4.
I feel a very little bit better.

Mrs Diver has been pushing me to go alone for 2 years now.
With 1 in college and employees to keep employed, it hasn't made sense.
But maybe "sense" has nothing to do with it !?!?

my hubby is down in La Paz and Cabo area by himself...all I can say is that I'm jealous! (...although I encouraged him to go solo). He missed his mommy, so he went down to do some visiting!

I remember reading about your trip with the truck problems, too, Diver...seems like yesterday!

Ira, I feel your pain. We'll skip this year for budgetary sanity. I considered borrowing the money from communist china, but I don't like owing them.

I just keep adding more coats of flexi roof seal to the camper!! It's getting to be a Mexico rig for sure.

At least we have just enough frozen water in wide long patches below our ski lifts that in 6 hours today I was able to make enough runs to light matches on my quads, and go home smiling from ear to ear!

No snow in the forecast.

Surfers have it better. They can surf in NorCal, but I sure can't ski in Baja!

All my best

Some change is good; we'll see Igor; but I know what you mean.
Shari, TioMike, Dave ?, and Trotters were the only non-Mexican owners spending much time in town when we got there.
Times have changed....

No worries on the property.

I think Bahia Acuncion has enough to go around.

More skiing, lots of hiking and careful diet my friend.
Also reducing stress with trips to Baja will do wonders !

Excellent advice Ira. It was quite a flip flop from 220 pounds and diabetic to 170 pounds and kidney cancer. I can NOW flip flop the diets and eat carbs for the benefit of the kidney and fight the battle with my will to stay away from protein which I crave as much as Baja sometimes!. A1c is 5.6 now!

Quite the learning process.
