Todays Photo - Feb 19th - Smoke those flies and mosquitos away!! Pull a cork and fire up a gopher.

Lots of horseowners still use this oldtimer's method to keep biting and sometimes infectious insects away from the livestock...in this case my neighbor's boarding horses.

Trying to keep some pesky buzzers away, we tried a smokey fire a couple times on a recent road trip, but once with less than satisfactory results. Almost called the fire department on this episode where Co-pilot roasts a.. hmm...possibly a 'gopher'? (Anyway, she caught it, whatever it was before it hit the flames...)

"Smokey Says...where there's smoke, there's Fire! And where there's a co-pilot campfire-cooking there's gonna be some hot coals afterwards that will need quenching and drenching. Smokey's no saint, either.."

Now...I can't stand smokey clothes plus burnt hair & fur smell...so....someone had to dress, shower, and sleep under the stars for a few nights. :saint::rolleyes:

;)Code of the West, Rules of the Road... and all that stuff, y'know...

Want that Fresh-air smell? Of course you do...So just hang the laundry out on the nearest tree branch without pidgeons....sure beats a laundromat dryer...right?

"Ah...Come on inside, I was just kidding. Want some good Red Truck red with that gopher, there, Co-Pilot? It looks like a good vintage, might even be as good as those 2-Buck Chuck cases we went through.....older though..hey, this is primo...says right here...'Chateau Las Tuesday.'

"I'll jest let 'er breathe a bit 'fore we wet our lips."

Wondering how those horses are doing in that smoke?? Me, too...kinda...

You are absolutely correct on the Red Truck. A really good, "honest" and dependable wine.
