Baja Walk - 2000 Miles in 100 Days

San Felipe, Baja California, 5/4/12

"John and Rachel Pack, will begin the extreme 2000-mile walking challenge for charities next Saturday, May 12 in San Felipe, Baja California. The walk will take the Pack's on a 2000-mile trek to circumnavigating the Baja peninsula during the hottest months of the year. The event aims to draw attention to various Baja charities with far great challenges. The Baja Walk is expected to finish on or before August 20, 2012 in Rosarito Beach. At the conclusion of the Baja Walk's 100 Day Challenge, John and Rachel Pack are scheduled to be master of ceremonies for the Baja Blues Fest at Rosarito Beach Hotel on August 25, 2012, another charity event to raise funds for Baja children.

Beginning today, the Pack's will be releasing a new video update of the Baja Walk every day for 100 days. The video will honestly portray the difficulties challenges of such a task. "We want people to feel engaged" says John Pack, "and video can tell say so much, in such a short time. By using the video, we hope folks can join us on the trail, sort of come along with us, which for us is reassuring, knowing people are watching us makes us feel a little safer."

The videos will be released by supporters along the course. Each video will be a short update on their conditions and location, along with footage and images of Baja not seen from the highway, or resort destination. The video begins two weeks before their departure, and will continue through the August 25 Baja Blues Fest. They will be carrying 4 cameras, but will not have access to high speed Internet, so they are building a team to not only bring them water, but to help them get the footage uploaded.

"Our goal is to do something big enough and crazy enough that people will give us just a moment to tell them about the challenges of these charities", Rachel emphasizes, "we need as many people as possible to know how much these groups give, and how little they have."

John and Rachel Pack are publishers and owners of the Baja Good Life Club, a travel and discount club for full and part-time residents of Baja California. They have been publishing on Baja since 2007.

A 5 minute introduction to the Baja Walk, a 2000 mile, 100 day circumnavigation of the Baja peninsula during the hottest time of the year...on foot. The goal is to bring awareness to the real challenges many Baja charities face daily to selflessly provide at to Baja's children, animal and environment."
